[Bug 606168] Re: coretemp from kernel does not support i7 980X

2010-07-21 Thread Jeremy Foshee
Hi LeForgeron,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the
upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be
done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the
bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text.
Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 606168] Re: coretemp from kernel does not support i7 980X

2010-07-21 Thread LeForgeron
Tested fine with 2.6.35-999-generic #201007211008 SMP Wed Jul 21 10:09:49 UTC
2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
( as provided by http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/daily/current/
today )

6 core temperature sensors are reported in the gnome-sensors-applet
(seems fine too: 6 real cores, numbered 0, 1, 2 and 8, 9, 10, I do not know how
the numbering is done (with a total of 12 HTcore, that's a lot to number)

Tag 'needs-upstream-testing' has been removed as requested.
