I have a server running 10.10 with sudo version 1.7.2p7 which is having the same problem. I'm sorry, the function I was referring to has been implemented in sudo 1.7.3. However, Lucid has 1.7.2p1. Therefore, this is an invalid bug. I was confused by the fact that the same bug exists in the sudo bugtracker for a version = 1.7.3, and didn't compare versions before reporting.
