[Bug 72613] Re: crash gxine
Another one which looks like it's unrelated... And "_nv89gl"? Would that, by any chance, be from an nVidia OpenGL library...? That's (a) not a gxine problem, (b) not a xine-lib problem and (c) dependent on an nVidia-tainted kernel. (BTW, try using the Xv or XxMC video driver instead.) -- crash gxine https://launchpad.net/bugs/72613 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 72613] Re: crash gxine
My Gxine usually crashes on exit. ** Attachment added: "annother crash file" http://librarian.launchpad.net/6896863/_usr_bin_gxine.1000.crash -- crash gxine https://launchpad.net/bugs/72613 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 72613] Re: crash gxine
Not sure what I can do to add or help, but my system told me to put this here. Been with Ubuntu about 3 days, trying to get my WMV and other videos to play, the one I tried to load seems to have crashed the program. Anyway, here's the file... ** Attachment added: "Crash File" http://librarian.launchpad.net/6526962/_usr_bin_gxine.1000.crash -- crash gxine https://launchpad.net/bugs/72613 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 72613] Re: crash gxine (dumping ground for miscellaneous unrelated reports)
That last one looks like an ffmpeg problem; you might like to try xine- lib 1.1.3 (I see that you have 1.1.2). That's three crash dumps in this bug report. Since they appear to be unrelated, it should really be three separate bug reports. The first one (extracted MRL is "mms://tvpol.wmod.llnwd.net/fc/a295/o2/300K/klan/1157.wmv") seems fine here, but then I'm using a recent xine-lib CVS snapshot which handles this stream via ffmpeg. So it's either a xine-lib problem or a w32codecs problem. The second one NEEDS a sample stream and/or configuration information. Without this, I think that it's not worth looking at again. The third one I've already covered, but again, a sample stream wouldn't go amiss. Let's just say that for any attempt to fix it to have any chance of succeeding, the crash really needs to be repeatable by others... -- crash gxine https://launchpad.net/bugs/72613 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 72613] Re: crash gxine
It crashes to me too ** Attachment added: "I have a newly installed Ubuntu 6.10 I was trying to watch a .mov file it happened also when trying to watch a .avi file, but without a core" http://librarian.launchpad.net/5808111/_usr_bin_gxine.1000.crash -- crash gxine https://launchpad.net/bugs/72613 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 72613] Re: crash gxine
Same crash? Really? Then why isn't the backtrace in your crash dump file [1] pointing at xine_get_next_audio_frame() in /usr/lib/libxine.so.1? What would be a lot more useful is (a) a separate bug report for what looks suspiciously like a separate issue, (b) knowing what you were doing with gxine at the time and (c) http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html [1] Bloated, insufficiently-annotated, lacking full debug info, would ideally be processed after upload to provide this info *without* the core dump... yes, I agree, /var/crash/_usr_bin_gxine.1000 is a problem :-) -- crash gxine https://launchpad.net/bugs/72613 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 72613] Re: crash gxine
I have the same crash and would love to find a way to solve it:/var/crash/_usr_bin_gxine.1000. Would it help to uninstall gxine and then re-install? or is Totem in the way? (this probably shows how much of a newbee I am...) problem: /var/crash/_usr_bin_gxine.1000. ** Attachment added: "gxine crash 1000" http://librarian.launchpad.net/5805230/_usr_bin_gxine.1000.crash -- crash gxine https://launchpad.net/bugs/72613 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
