[Bug 880648] Re: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend
https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/12/12/294 wwguy on lkml suggests a fix for the problem. I had exactly the same problem with fedora 15 and 16 and it fixes the problem on f16 (which is the only linux OS I am currently running). I suspect this would also fix the problem on Ubuntu also but I am unable to test it at this time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880648 Title: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/880648/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 880648] Re: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend
Yes, bugzilla.kernel.org still offline. So I posted to LKML as you suggest. However, not sure who the subsystem maintainer is so I just posted this message: https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/10/26/6 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880648 Title: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/880648/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 880648] Re: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend
This issue appears to be an upstream bug, since you tested the latest upstream kernel. Would it be possible for you to open an upstream bug report at bugzilla.kernel.org [1]? That will allow the upstream Developers to examine the issue, and may provide a quicker resolution to the bug. If you are comfortable with opening a bug upstream, It would be great if you can report back the upstream bug number in this bug report. That will allow us to link this bug to the upstream report. The bugzilla.kernel.org may still be unavailable due to the recent break-in. One alternative would be to report this directly to the subsystem maintainer or to the Linux Kernel Mailing List - linux- ker...@vger.kernel.org [1] https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/kernel -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880648 Title: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/880648/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Kernel v3.1-rc10-oneric (latest) doesn't help with this bug. ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing ** Tags added: kernel-bug-exists-upstream -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880648 Title: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/880648/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 880648] Re: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend
Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . If possible, please test the latest release candidate kernel (Not a kernel in the daily directory). Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag(Only that one tag, please leave the others). This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. If this bug is fixed by the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream-KERNEL-VERSION'. For example, if kernel version 3.1-rc9 fixed and issue, the tag would be: 'kernel-fixed- upstream-v3.1-rc9'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Thanks in advance. ** Tags added: needs-upstream-testing -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880648 Title: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/880648/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 880648] Re: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend
Did apport-collect after wifi failure to connect after resume timed out (RED x over wifi icon) and then plugged in ethernet cable. Just to be clear, suspend == suspend to ram. (Note: suspend to disk has never worked but not relevant to this bug.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880648 Title: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/880648/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 880648] Re: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected oneiric staging ** Description changed: Upgraded to 11.10 from 11.04 today. Now when resume from suspend, wifi fails to reconnect saying waiting for authentication. If I use the last kernel from 11.04, 2.4.39 instead of the new 3.0.0, it still works OK. After wake from suspend, if using ethernet it works OK. lspci -v 0d:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000 Subsystem: Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000 BGN Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 53 Memory at c450 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=8K] Capabilities: [c8] Power Management version 3 Capabilities: [d0] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit+ Capabilities: [e0] Express Endpoint, MSI 00 Capabilities: [100] Advanced Error Reporting Capabilities: [140] Device Serial Number 8c-a9-82-ff-ff-a0-f4-7a Kernel driver in use: iwlagn Kernel modules: iwlagn + + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.24. + ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu3 + Architecture: amd64 + ArecordDevices: + List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices + card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: STAC92xx Analog [STAC92xx Analog] +Subdevices: 1/1 +Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USERPID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC0: gene 1793 F pulseaudio + CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'PCH'/'HDA Intel PCH at 0xc750 irq 53' +Mixer name : 'Intel CougarPoint HDMI' +Components : 'HDA:111d7605,103c165a,00100105 HDA:80862805,80860101,0010' +Controls : 18 +Simple ctrls : 10 + DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 + HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=522d916f-a489-4247-acf5-ddf837f836b9 + InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Release amd64 (20110427.1) + IwConfig: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC + Package: linux (not installed) + ProcEnviron: + LANGUAGE= + PATH=(custom, no user) + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash + ProcKernelCmdLine: root=UUID=ca71fcf1-cfed-4e2c-9593-29b47c9cc6a0 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 + ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-12.20-usernameric 3.0.4 + RelatedPackageVersions: + linux-restricted-modules-3.0.0-12-generic N/A + linux-backports-modules-3.0.0-12-generic N/A + linux-firmware1.60 + RfKill: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + StagingDrivers: rts_pstor mei + Tags: oneiric staging + UdevDb: Error: [Errno 2] No such file or directory + Uname: Linux 3.0.0-12-generic x86_64 + UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to oneiric on 2011-10-23 (0 days ago) + UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout lpadmin plugdev sambashare + dmi.bios.date: 07/20/2011 + dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard + dmi.bios.version: F.1A + dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag + dmi.board.name: 165A + dmi.board.vendor: Hewlett-Packard + dmi.board.version: 10.31 + dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Chassis Asset Tag + dmi.chassis.type: 10 + dmi.chassis.vendor: Hewlett-Packard + dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version + dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnHewlett-Packard:bvrF.1A:bd07/20/2011:svnHewlett-Packard:pnHPPaviliondv7NotebookPC:pvr058D11244620001620100:rvnHewlett-Packard:rn165A:rvr10.31:cvnHewlett-Packard:ct10:cvrChassisVersion: + dmi.product.name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC + dmi.product.version: 058D11244620001620100 + dmi.sys.vendor: Hewlett-Packard ** Attachment added: "AcpiTables.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880648/+attachment/2569131/+files/AcpiTables.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880648 Title: wifi iwlagn fails to authenticate after wake from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/880648/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
