in my test, i tested with an empty directory, so I naturally confirmed the dialog warning me about overwriting files since the directory was empty I can't imagine being concerned with overwriting files I can't exist. so no it makes 0 sense. I dont understand why you are testing the dialog. The test involves if the files are deleted or not. Confirming your own bug? Hmmm. Anyways, I dont' have 11.10 to try this out on and I left the 12.04 box at home, but in 12.10 there is no issue with this. In fact, it recognizes there is a file of the same name and asks if you want to overwrite, rename, etc. Handles it quite well.
