There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. I have the same problem and it is still present with Natty beta1. Further, selecting a small country like Switzerland on the map is close to impossible (being able to zoom on the selected continent, in this case Europe, may help). Strangelly, most tries in this region select even smaller countries like Liechtenstein, Luxemburg or Monaco, so the only solution is usually to type Zurich in the text field, but this is also difficult because of the very long delay before the characters we type are displayed.
