I can confirm both the existence of this bug as well as the fact that
12.036 seems to solve the issue, which is good news as that versions
seems to be what will be shipped with Natty.

maybe that patch isn't enough. i am now using 12.036 from PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~brian-rogers/+archive/ppa which seems to be
working ok.
