[Bug 92345] Re: OpenOffice 2.2.0 RC3 - (Kubuntu Feisty Herd 5) crash when paste html text From a Browser.
Step to reproduce : Copy/Paste any text containing links containing themselves a special character in the URL. For instance you can go to fr.wikipedia.org and copy a paragraph containing : http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lib%C3%A9ralisme_%C3%A9conomique as URL. then simply save the document it'll crash openoffice. ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Confirmed ** Summary changed: - OpenOffice 2.2.0 RC3 - (Kubuntu Feisty Herd 5) crash when paste html text From a Browser. + OpenOffice copy/pasting text containing link with special characters in the URL make it crash ** Description changed: Binary package hint: openoffice.org OO crash when you try to Paste text from a Web Browser (Lets say, Firefox, Konqueror, etc... in resume, html text). How to Reproduce: 1- Open Firefox, then browse any site (example, Wikipedia). - 2- Copy some text from it (that includes html links, images and so on... not just simple text). + 2- Copy some text that include special characters in them (é, à, or anything else) 3- Open OO writer (or impress, or whatever you want...) and copy the text. 4- Try to save the document, and you will see OO crashing. NOTE: This happen with latest upgrade of Feisty... i don't know with previous upgrades. ** Tags added: feisty ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Stéphane Graber ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Target: None = ubuntu-7.04 -- OpenOffice copy/pasting text containing link with special characters in the URL make it crash https://launchpad.net/bugs/92345 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

eMaX... copy a text that have links, images.. and so on... not simple text... then try to save the file This happen to me in every feisty herd 5 installation... and i have 20 wokstations.. so... (included amd64 version) In console the only thing that shows when crash is: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'webdav_ucp::DAVException' This with latest feisty update/upgrade. I dont know before today... i didn't tested. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: openoffice.org OO crash when you try to Paste text from a Web Browser (Lets say, Firefox, Konqueror, etc... in resume, html text). [Bug 92345] Re: OpenOffice 2.2.0 RC3 - (Kubuntu Feisty Herd 5) crash when paste html text From a Browser.
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I have been unable to reproduce this with openoffice.org version 2.2.0~rc3~oof680m10-0ubuntu3 . Could you please let us know which specific version of openoffice.org you have installed? You can check with 'dpkg -l openoffice.org'. Thanks in advance. ** Changed in: openoffice.org (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Brian Murray Status: Unconfirmed = Needs Info -- OpenOffice 2.2.0 RC3 - (Kubuntu Feisty Herd 5) crash when paste html text From a Browser. https://launchpad.net/bugs/92345 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Heres the output: ii openoffice.org 2.2.0~rc3~oof680m10-0ubuntu3 OpenOffice.org Office suite So, the same version as yours it seems that happen more often when you copy images to from the website cause if you copy only text, does not happen... so, maybe images and tables, styles, etc. This, as i said, happen in amd64 version too. -- OpenOffice 2.2.0 RC3 - (Kubuntu Feisty Herd 5) crash when paste html text From a Browser. https://launchpad.net/bugs/92345 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
