Public bug reported: Rhythmbox plays the first second or so of a song and then the audio stops. The slider continues as normal, but there is no audio either from my headphones or speakers. Changing to a different song does the same thing. I have picked a song from the Dash, but subsequently, I tried selecting one from RB, and the same thing happened. Nothing new on this one? Our company should migrate from 10.04 to 12.04 this summer, but this bug is the biggest show stopper since our applications rely heavily on dnd. The best workaround I have found is to 'keep current settings' when the timed dialog appears (in display settings). Once the settings are applied, although the display is rotated 90 degrees, I have found that the 'normal' orientation option reappears in the orientation dropdown box. Applying 'normal' then restores the proper orientation, although it has to be reset again every time the second display is connected. I don't think anyone even cares about this anymore. I really just wanted a word from the design team telling me that they won't fix it for the reason X. It's far better than no one saying nothing and everyone getting used to bad workarounds (like clicking the window's titlebar and selecting Always on top and resize it to be able to drop from one window to another). When I recommend Ubuntu to a friend and he/she uses it but complains about a little problem, I am usually proud (and not ashamed) to admit the problem exists and is bad but people are aware of it and working on it. @Serge I did upgrade my kernels yesterday evening both on hypervisors and guests so now I'm running 3.2.0-25-generic on hosts and the same kernel version but virtual for VMs. Same problem today morning, some VMs dropped out. I'm actually using virtio everywhere. I'll try to test another one and keep you in touch asap. I also tried to run a VMs with the generic kernel (not the virtual one) and I'm facing the same issue. Serge as I'm building this new plateform I can say they there is no traffic at all on my VMs exept 2 guys testing some java stuffs. I almost thinking that VMs drop out when there is not enough traffic on nics... [Bug 1018740] [NEW] Dual nic results in no internet connectivity
Public bug reported: clean install, machine has dual nic. Both nic's are connected to the same gigabit switch getting DHCP from the same Ubuntu ISC DHCP server but with (obviously) different configuration. No connectivity until I do an 'ifconfig down eth1' at which point the internet springs in to life. If I then do an 'ifconfig up eth1' it remains working. A logoff/on will produce the same results again. I will try internet connectivity from the console on a restart and see if the issue occurs without Gnome/network-manager (in the near future.
