[Bug 1179015] Re: Ubuntu 13.04 kernel oops with Nvidia 319.17

[Bug 1082403] Re: please update to the latest stable version !
Hi, as the acting maintainer of mpd in Debian I'd be interested to discuss ways to resolve the diff between Ubuntu and Debian wrt. mpd. As far as I can see, what's left is the apport hook (which I could just add in the next upload), making avahi-daemon a Recommends: rather than a Suggests: (why is that necessary?), and finally the patch to the init script to 'chown $USER:audio $PIDDIR' - that one is wrong, I think, because mpd should run either as a system service under the mpd user, or run from the user's session based on ~/.mpdconf and logging to as well as working with user-accessible paths, preferably under ~/.mpd. This should also fix pulseaudio issues. There's preliminary support for that in an mpd.desktop file that gets put into examples currently, and it would mean disabling mpd on system startup (at least on new installs). Would that be a solution, or is the "Read mpd user from mpd.conf" patch meant to accomplish something entirely different? [Bug 1060945] [NEW] When installing on a Mac Mini or iMac step one should be pairing bluetooth keyboard and mouse/trackpad
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I hate special casing as much as the next guy but when you detect that you are installing on a Mac Mini or an iMac, it would be helpful if you paired the users keyboard and mouse/trackpad. Most Mac users will be using these devices and they will be paired with OS X so the installation process has no keyboard nor a pointer to complete the process.. this needless to say presents a problem as these devices are needed to complete vital steps such as entering the users name. The current alternative is hoping that such users have a spare keyboard and mouse lying around. [Bug 994301] Re: usb headphones not working
I had similar issue with Plantronics usb headset on Ubuntu 12.04.2. After reinstalling half of my system I came accros a slider in alsa mixer which did the thing. Here is what I did. After opening alsa mixer, pressed F6, selected Plantronics .Audio 622 USB. It showed two sliders: one for the Speaker and one for the Mic. And this is what one would expect becasuse there is just one microphone and the speakers on the headset. But after pressing F5 (which stands for showing all controls, and is barely visible in between of other text), another slider appears. This one also says Mic, but it has "Capture" on top of it. On my system this slider was on zero. After sliding it to maximum, I was able to normally controll the input level for the microphone from sound settings. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994301 Title: usb headphones not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/994301/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 882779] Re: WLAN card cannot be activated, it is hard-rfkill-ed and fn-f2 does not work
@Jeff, since WLAN is been blocked by hardware PIN, there is no easy way to turn it on under Linux in a software way. the best solution is to see if Quanta willing to release a Thinkpad ACPI spec including how to do it from WMI interface like Windows app, then we can try to implement a thinkpad_wmi driver similar to hp_wmi(?) to control it. or there is another thing we can try is to check whether Quanta provide some hardware options for turn on/off accessories like WLAN in their latest BIOS. the last thing to try is to 'Load Defaults' in BIOS, some ODM BIOS will do a sane way to setup for most of the hardware with it's default configuration, then maybe accessories like WLAN and BT may turned on in this mode. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/882779 Title: WLAN card cannot be activated, it is hard-rfkill-ed and fn-f2 does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/882779/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1178373] Re: Restart spawns a password box
Hi, This is because lightdm has been ported to logind and away from ConsoleKit for session management. xfce4-session should follow suit and use logind too. I see that in 4.10.1 it's part of the way there - if I upgrade to this then restart works again. To get suspend working I've additionally patched to use logind for suspend too. The same code should be introduced for hibernate as well - my patch is incomplete and definitely should go upstream. UPower wants to remove these APIs (suspend/hibernate). http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/devkit-devel/2013-January/001339.html I'll leave finishing and uploading to the Xubuntu developers.
