[Bug 1771572] [NEW] [SRU] queens stable release update
Public bug reported: [Impact] This release sports mostly bug-fixes and we would like to make sure all of our supported customers have access to these improvements. The update contains the following package updates: * neutron 12.0.2 * heat 10.0.1 * nova 17.0.4 [Test Case] The following SRU process was followed: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/OpenStackUpdates In order to avoid regression of existing consumers, the OpenStack team will run their continuous integration test against the packages that are in -proposed. A successful run of all available tests will be required before the proposed packages can be let into -updates. The OpenStack team will be in charge of attaching the output summary of the executed tests. The OpenStack team members will not mark ‘verification-done’ until this has happened. [Regression Potential] In order to mitigate the regression potential, the results of the aforementioned tests are attached to this bug. [Bug 1771524] Re: Merge newer dovecot for Cosmic
I had thought of an issue of the breaks/replaces and tested with the first ppa build. Indeed old mail-stack-delivery postrm being triggered would mean a restoration of the cofig before it's installation. This is not how we want it to be transitioned-out. Therefore case 11 of https://wiki.debian.org/PackageTransition does not apply (as that would remove it). Instead approach #2 would be to add an empty transitional that we will keep until 20.04 to catch all upgrades dropping it without modifying the configuration. I tested an old install with mail-stack-delivery upgrading to the new version. a) with breaks/replaces triggers the unwanted remove as expected b) with a transitional package This does what we want - turn it into an empty package - does not rebuild the assumed old config - the transitional can be removed without wreaking havok Going on with B then ... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1771524 Title: Merge newer dovecot for Cosmic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dovecot/+bug/1771524/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1437353] Re: UEFI network boot hangs at grub for adapter 82599ES 10-Gigabit SFI/SFP+
Well, the CI part confirms that there is no regression, but there is as yet no indication that the issue is fixed aside from the cases where firmware was updated (but then, it's not the SRU). There's still a need to verify the fix positively on affected hardware. Now, KingJ's comment says that testing has been done with the version of grub in bionic, and with the version of grub being SRUed to xenial, and neither did work. I think that qualifies as verification-failed, and we'll need to have another look at grub's behavior. At this point, there is no obvious patch missing, and we'll need to debug using packet captures to try and make sense of it. ** Tags removed: verification-done verification-done-xenial ** Tags added: verification-failed-xenial -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1437353 Title: UEFI network boot hangs at grub for adapter 82599ES 10-Gigabit SFI/SFP+ To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1437353/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1771359] Re: No matching cipher found even if client and server have matching cipher
Hi, thanks for taking the time to file a bug. The three ciphers you listed, aes128-cbc, 3des-cbc, and des-cbc, I believe are not considered secure anymore. While your SSH client can use them, it may not offer them without explicitly saying you wish to use them as you have discovered. It may be possible to use `ssh -vv ...` to produce some additional debug output and may show what ciphers were offered. As such I do not think this is actually a bug in Ubuntu and will mark it incomplete. If you disagree or have additional information please feel free to add it to this bug. [Bug 1771359] Re: No matching cipher found even if client and server have matching cipher
Here are some change log entries confirming my suspicion: openssh (1:7.4p1-1) unstable; urgency=medium * New upstream release (http://www.openssh.com/txt/release-7.4): - ssh(1): Remove 3des-cbc from the client's default proposal. 64-bit block ciphers are not safe in 2016 and we don't want to wait until attacks like SWEET32 are extended to SSH. [Bug 1725250] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 - opencryptoki 3.7.0 segmentation fault on pkcsconf -t
> Remembering that this is not happening on any other distro, or debian. Note that all other distributions use lower minimum ISA level, and possibly have less hardening enabled. Ubuntu toolchain defaults to -march=zEC12 & we do have PIE enabled, fortify sources, etc. So it may make sense to recompile the stack with optimisations turned off and using lower instruction sets, to see if there is a toolchain bug / incompatibility lurking somewhere. It was previously confirmed that everything works fine, in bionic during development. But I think validation was done in a z/VM at the time, not an LPAR. It would be nice to document the configs / underlying lpar/z/vm configs too, which trigger the crashes. --- Comment From dougm...@us.ibm.com 2018-05-16 11:05 EDT--- (In reply to comment #8) > Would you like me to build another test kernel with a version, so it won't > collide? I haven't heard back from Naveed, who was going to test last night. I hate to ask for a new kernel if he was able to test. But, this brings up a question I had. I am not familiar with the Ubuntu build procedures, so I'm just comparing to RedHat and Linux Makefile. In those build methods, there is a way to append an arbitrary string to the version (EXTRAVERSION) and it allows the kernel to avoid conflicts. Does such a mechanism exist for Ubuntu builds? Up to now, it seems that only numeric strings are being appended (e.g. "-21", "-90"). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1770095 Title: Need fix to aacraid driver to prevent panic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-power-systems/+bug/1770095/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1771606] [NEW] [SRU] Fix budgie panel hang when USB inserted
Public bug reported: Budgie Extras is a set of python based applets that are either preinstalled or are available to be individually installed. They are exclusive only to budgie desktop users and cannot be installed or run on any other desktop environment. A number of issues have been raised since the 18.04 release. As part of ongoing 18.04 support the Ubuntu Budgie Team proposes to wrap up fixes on a very targeted individual applet basis. This is to ensure each SRU request is strictly limited in scope with the risk(s) being easily determinable. [Impact] Reported via our discourse support forum: https://discourse.ubuntubudgie.org/t/two-small-issues-sticky-applet- window-missing-shutdown-button/247 “popup menu for usb drives”-applet can occasionally become stuck on its popup position and cannot be closed without logging out and logging back in. The impact is for Ubuntu Budgie only and anyone running the budgie desktop together with the DropBy applet. [Test Case] 1. Using Budgie Settings, check that on a panel that the DropBy applet has been added 2. Insert a USB pen-stick 3. A popup window will appear on the panel - this is the drop by applet 4. Dismiss (close) the popup window by clicking elsewhere on the desktop i.e. move the focus away from the popup window 5. Repeat steps 2,3 and 4 several times. In each and every time the popup menu should be dismissable. [Regression Potential] * The worst case scenario is that the panel applet does not correctly start or function correctly when a USB stick is inserted. This can be mitigated easily by removing the panel applet via Budgie Settings or uninstalling the applet via command line/ Software Center * The OP who raised this has tested this for a week and verified the fix in a test PPA * Ubuntu Team has independently verified that the fix works by constantly checking the test case repeatedly. [Bug 1771615] [NEW] LibreOffice Apps do not appear in the panel taskbar
Public bug reported: I recently installed Lubuntu Next 18.04, which includes LibreOffice 6. At some point, I noticed that LibreOffice Writer (unlike all my other programs) does not appear in the panel's Taskbar (where all apps loaded in that workspace/desktop should be). All other apps with which I have experience, are listed in the taskbar, and can be minimized and un-minimized by clicking on the portion of the bar devoted to that app. There is an option in the panel settings that would allow me to only have apps appear in the taskbar when minimized, but I never use that. LibreOffice apps (I noticed this with Writer, but since tested it with the other LO apps that were installed with my OS, and the same thing happens with all) have nothing in the taskbar to show that they have opened, and when minimized, disappear entirely. I know that they have not quit when they disappear, in two ways: 1. If I use the OS's menu to bring up LO-W again (thus with an blank document), and then go to that window's menu->Window, it shows all open LO-W documents, which can then be brought back by clicking on them. 2. Lubuntu Next's window manager OpenBox has a keyboard-shortcut Alt-Tab, which allows one to select from available app windows - and at least one LO document is listed, from which the others can then be accessed by #1. I don't know what causes an app to have windows in the taskbar, but that system is failing with LO windows. (I guess that I had assumed that the OS took care of managing windows in the taskbar - having them appear there when opened, and removing them when closed), but apparently I am wrong, or LO windows would not be able to hide, as they seem to do...) I am assuming that this is a new bug, as this did not happen before. I cannot think that it is a design decision, not to let the user minimize documents (or simultaneously open multiple documents) without apparently losing them altogether (at least without jumping through hoops (hoops of which they might well not be aware...)). scott@scott-ASUS-M2N68-AM-PLUS:~$ uname -a Linux scott-ASUS-M2N68-AM-PLUS 4.15.0-20-generic #21-Ubuntu SMP Tue Apr 24 06:16:15 UTC 2018 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux scott@scott-ASUS-M2N68-AM-PLUS:~$ lsb_release -dsc Ubuntu 18.04 LTS bionic scott@scott-ASUS-M2N68-AM-PLUS:~$ echo $DESKTOP_SESSION QLubuntu scott@scott-ASUS-M2N68-AM-PLUS:~$ apt-cache policy libreoffice-core libreoffice-core: Installed: 1:6.0.3-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:6.0.3-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1:6.0.3-0ubuntu1 500 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 18.04 Package: libreoffice-core 1:6.0.3-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.15.0-20.21-generic 4.15.17 Uname: Linux 4.15.0-20-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.9-0ubuntu7 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: LXQt Date: Wed May 16 11:22:53 2018 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-04-29 (16 days ago) InstallationMedia: Lubuntu-Next 18.04 LTS "Bionic Beaver" - Alpha amd64 (20180421) ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm-256color PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: libreoffice UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug bionic ** Attachment added: "Note that the only thing in the bottom panel's Taskbar is my (hidden) terminal app Sakura." https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1771615/+attachment/5140381/+files/LibreOffice_Not_In_Taskbar.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1771615 Title: LibreOffice Apps do not appear in the panel taskbar To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/1771615/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

The dev_disable_lro warning is happening due to some logic issues in the features code. The LRO on the VLAN (bond0.200, e.g.) that's being warned about does end up being disabled by a NETDEV_FEAT_CHANGE callback when the underlying bond0's features are updated, so the warning is spurious. Tracing the dev_disable_lro -> netdev_update_features for the bond0.2004 VLAN, I see: name="bond0" feat=219db89 hw_feat=20219cbe9 want_feat=20219cbe9 vlan_feat=198069 NETIF_F_LRO = 0x8000 dev_disable_lro wanted_features &= ~NETIF_F_LRO bond0.2004 wanted_features = 0x200194869# no LRO __netdev_update_features features = netdev_get_wanted_features return (dev->features & ~dev->hw_features) | dev->wanted_features; (0x19d809 & ~0x23839487b) | 0x200194869 ^LRO ^no LRO^no LRO 0x9000 | 0x200194869 $2 = 0x20019d869 ^ LRO vlan_dev_fix_features(dev, 0x20019d869) # has LRO struct net_device *real_dev = vlan_dev_priv(dev)->real_dev; netdev_features_t old_features = features; features &= real_dev->vlan_features;# 0x198069 has LRO features |= NETIF_F_RXCSUM; # 0x100198069 has LRO features &= real_dev->features; # 0x198009 has LRO features |= old_features & NETIF_F_SOFT_FEATURES; # save GSO / GRO features |= NETIF_F_LLTX; return features; # will have LRO So, basically, LRO is set in the underlying bond0's features, so it ends up being kept in the VLAN device's features even though it wasn't in wanted_features. Later, dev_disable_lro will call dev_disable_lro on all the lower devices (the bond0 in this case), and the update of features for the bond0 will issue a NETDEV_FEAT_CHANGE callback to the bond0.2004 VLAN, which will then set the features correctly. The Ubuntu 3.13 __netdev_update_features (called by dev_disable_lro via netdev_update_features) lacks additional logic found in later kernels to sync the features to lower devices. That presumably triggers the NETDEV_FEAT_CHANGE within the call to __netdev_update_features so that the bond0.2004 VLAN is updated before we return back to dev_disable_lro (but I haven't verified this). I suspect the fix to eliminate the warning is to apply the "sync_lower:" block from a later kernel __netdev_update_features to 3.13, along with the netdev_sync_lower_features function it uses. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1771480 Title: WARNING: CPU: 28 PID: 34085 at /build/linux- 90Gc2C/linux-3.13.0/net/core/dev.c:1433 dev_disable_lro+0x87/0x90() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1771480/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1771625] [NEW] network-manager tray menu disappears when connecting to a wireless network
Public bug reported: I'm using Linux Mint 18.3 on amd64 which is based on Ubuntu 16.04. I'm reporting this bug here because it is related to the network-manager tray icon, which I think is from nm-applet in the package network- manager-gnome, which on my laptop is version 1.2.6-0ubuntu0.16.04.4, which means that it is not modified from the Ubuntu version. Package version: network-manager-gnome 1.2.6-0ubuntu0.16.04.4 What I expected to happen: The network-manager tray menu should update its contents when the machine connects to a wifi network. What happened instead: The network-manager tray menu disappears when the machine connects to a wifi network. Note: What I mean by the "network-manager tray menu" is the menu that appears when the network-manager tray icon is clicked, which shows wired and wireless connections, which connection(s) are active, and so on. [Bug 1769420] Re: Odd lxqt-config-file-associations for .jpg and .pdf
Well, even though there will be no "Lubuntu Next" ongoing, as you point out, the ongoing Lubuntu will be fully LXQt. Unless you plan to use completely different [LX]Qt apps in Lubuntu than were used in Lubuntu Next, or completely re-write them, then it must be assumed that the same apps will be used in L as in LN (different versions, possibly, as things are improved/repaired). Thus, if bugs are not reported and fixed in the LN apps, then they will still be present in L. Therefore, it seems completely relevant to me that we report and fix bugs in LN apps, even if there will be no LN in which to include them. I can see that there might be a problem as to WHERE to report them... Reporting them under Lubuntu Next could be seen as irrelevant (as you appear to do), as there will be no more Lubuntu Next. But likewise, reporting them under Lubuntu may also be considered irrelevant, as they are not USED in Lubuntu (currently). [for instance, reporting a bug for qpdfview under Lubuntu might cause some scratching of heads, and might well elicit a comment that "Lubuntu doesn't USE qpdfview - we use Evince (or whatever .pdf viewer Lubuntu was using)"] Knowing now (?) the schedule for Lubuntu's switchover from LXDE to LXQt, is there any official advice as to where to file bugs for apps that WERE for Lubuntu Next, but WILL BE for Lubuntu? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1769420 Title: Odd lxqt-config-file-associations for .jpg and .pdf To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxqt-config/+bug/1769420/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1771625] Re: network-manager tray menu disappears when connecting to a wireless network
There are two general (but similar) ways to reproduce the bug: A. Wake the laptop from suspend. There should be saved networks in range, and the "connect automatically" setting on for at least some of those networks. - When the laptop wakes from suspend, immediately type your password on the lock screen, and as soon as the desktop appears, click the network-manager tray icon to display its menu. - The menu will be displayed, and it will show the list of wireless networks, and also show the network that we are currently in the process of connecting. The tray icon is also the rotating wait icon at this time. - But as soon as we successfully connect to the network, the tray menu disappears. This is the bug. B. When the desktop is shown, connect to any wireless network. - Click on the tray icon, the network-manager tray menu will appear. - Click on any wireless network that is in range and that we have saved previously. The menu will disappear, this might be the intended behaviour. Also, the tray icon will flash into the network disconnected icon, and then change to the rotating wait icon. - While we are still in the process of connecting to the wireless network, and the tray icon is still the rotating wait icon, click on the tray icon again to display the menu. - The menu will display our chosen network in bold, although we have not successfully connected yet. This might be the intended behaviour. - After a few seconds, at the moment that the connection is complete, and the tray icon changes to the wireless network connected icon (with the signal bars), the menu disappears. [Bug 1771177] Re: support preseeding snaps in 16.04
Hello Mathieu, or anyone else affected, Accepted livecd-rootfs into xenial-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/livecd- rootfs/2.408.31 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how to enable and use -proposed.Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested and change the tag from verification-needed-xenial to verification-done-xenial. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed-xenial. In either case, without details of your testing we will not be able to proceed. Hi everyone, I also have an Asus ROG G752-VS with the same dead Elantech touchpad you have. But I got it to work, briefly: The Anaconda setup of Fedora 28 Atomic Workstation (https://torrent.fedoraproject.org/torrents/Fedora-AtomicWorkstation-ostree-x86_64-28.torrent) fully activates the touchpad, even with multitouch and tap-to-click. [Bug 1725250] Re: Ubuntu 17.10 - opencryptoki 3.7.0 segmentation fault on pkcsconf -t
Timeline wise, my debugging below was performed before seeing comment #19. So, running $ pkcsconf -t, under gdb is not helpful, as the segfault is in the non-existant/non-loaded object. Running same command like so: LD_DEBUG=all LD_BIND_NOT=1 pkcsconf -t Reveals in the debug output that: 187548: file=libep11.so [0]; dynamically loaded by /usr/lib/s390x-linux-gnu/libpkcs11_ep11.so [0] 187548: find library=libep11.so [0]; searching 187548: search cache=/etc/ld.so.cache However, libep11.so does not exist on Ubuntu. I would call this "dependency hell". It appears that libpkcs11_ep11.so requires dependencies that are not declared by the package in the Ubuntu archive, and which do not appear to be satisfiable from the Ubuntu archive. This error path is not nice, so I guess libpkcs11_ep11.so does not handle lack of libep11.so gracefully? What is libep11.so and where is it supposed to come from? Since we do not appear like we have it in the Ubuntu archive, I guess we should not be shipping libpkcs11_ep11.so as it cannot be used at all =/ and causes crashes. I wonder if it is my mistake for packaging libpkcs11_ep11.so in the first place. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1725250 Title: Ubuntu 17.10 - opencryptoki 3.7.0 segmentation fault on pkcsconf -t To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-z-systems/+bug/1725250/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1725250] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla
--- Comment From ebarre...@br.ibm.com 2018-05-16 13:14 EDT--- Hi Dimitri, No, libep11 is not the problem and the message that you are seeing on gdb is not the main reason. This error message: pkcsconf[187270]: ep11_specific.c ep11tok_init: Error loading shared library 'libep11.so' [libep11.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory] This is a common error that opencryptoki throws everytime that you have ep11 described on your /etc/opencryptoki/opencryptoki.conf. And throwing this error message doesn't cause segfault or other issue, this is just for logging so we know that you have ep11 in your conf file and that you don't have support of it. Again, you can remove ep11 from the opencryptoki.conf file, or if you have a machine with the EP11 token and install the libep11 from IBM website, you will see that the output of pkcsconf -t is still wrong, as Christian pointed out. To me, the problem is in the build process. Something is being done incorrectly or maybe the specific flags that you use on Ubuntu are affecting it somehow and making all the tokens to be recognized as ICA token. If you want to be sure about what I am talking about EP11, build the project manually from source and install it, you will see the libep11 error message and you will see that everything still works. I hope I was clear, if not please let me know.
