[Bug 1870721] Re: Ubuntu dock showing shortcut to "Dash to dock"
** Package changed: ubuntu => gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock (Ubuntu) ** Description changed: 1-) The release of Ubuntu: Ubuntu 20.04 Beta - everything updated - clean install, no installed extra extensions or programs 2-)The version of the package you are using: Ubuntu dock extension version: 67ubuntu20.04.3 3) What you expected to happen: Right clicking "Show applications" shouldn't show "Dash to dock settings" By default in "Dash to dock" - which Ubuntu dock is based on - when right clicking the "Show applications", the user gets a shortcut to the Dash to Dock settings. But this behavior is also present in the Ubuntu version of the extension. And if you try to open this "Dash to dock settings" using the Ubuntu dock (which shouldn't have an option to this shortcut at all), I get a notification with the following error message " Execution of "gnome-shell-extensions-prefs" failed: Command not found ". - - PS: Launchpad pointed that "gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock does not - exist in Ubuntu", although it is installed by default. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870721 Title: Ubuntu dock showing shortcut to "Dash to dock" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell-extension-ubuntu-dock/+bug/1870721/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Bug filed on Debian. Fix: libpengine: Options should be unsigned int, not long. Fix: libstonithd: Some validate arguments should be non-const. Fix: scheduler: make sure cluster-wide maintenance-mode=true overrides per-resource settings Fix: tools: Correct the crm_mon man page. There are too many fixes but mostly related to in-development refactorings so it's hard to distinguish if a fix is fixing something that exists already in v2.0.3. I preferred to be conservative and pick the ones that made more sense - core parts - and were solved right after the release (and of course didn't introduce new features and major code refactoring). [Bug 1870461] Re: zsysd uses more than half of CPU and disk IO
Thanks for reporting this bug and sorry you have an issue with zsys. It seems that zsys is going crazy in an infinite loop, I would be interested to know why: 1. can you try running manually "sudo zsysd -vv" and see paste the logs here? Do you have the spinning loops in that way as well? 2. if you don’t have the CPU going crazy, keep zsysd running as above and please run in another terminal "zsysctl service gc". Is the CPU going crazy now? If so, please attach the logs to this report. Can you paste as well the result of: - zpool list - zfs list -t all Disabling the socket and service is fine for now to prevent you going into this loop (but you won’t be able to revert as it’s zsys handling this). The error message just tell that it can’t save automatically the state which is expected as it’s zsysd doing it. This doesn’t hurt apart from not saving and not breaking your apt state. Note that we have important (not zsys but zfs layout related) fixes in the incoming beta image (due today), I doubt though this is what is causing your issue. The problem still happens using Kubuntu 18.04 LTS. This time the Hack font is used by default. In Kubuntu 18.04 LTS: if users manually configure kompare to use the "DejaVu Sans Mono" font, then kompare correctly highlights intra line differences. But users aren't told about it, and the problem is seen. ** Description changed: Dear Sirs: I suppose that you already know that, although I've looked for a bug report but it didn't appear: Using Kubuntu 16.04 this problem is seen: "kompare not highlighting - intra line differences". But in Kubuntu 16.04 LTS, using kompare an Oxygen font by default, the aforementioned problem is seen. Perhaps Kubuntu 16.04 LTS should include an Oxygen bold font? Or in Kubuntu 16.04 LTS another font should be used in kompare? Or maybe is something that kompare should solve and highlighting should work using a normal font? Or is a problem in another component? [Bug 1870427] Re: package smartmontools 7.1-1build1 failed to install/upgrade: conffile difference visualizer subprocess returned error exit status 127
Hmm, the pager is called from dpkg to show the diff in your case. This didn't change and dpkg doesn't do anything magic. I can only assume that you might have the "pager" itself setup in an odd way. Due to a bug or intentional - I don't know. Could you report back the output of: $ update-alternatives --display pager That most likely should look like: root@f2:~# update-alternatives --display pager pager - auto mode link best version is /usr/bin/less link currently points to /usr/bin/less link pager is /usr/bin/pager slave pager.1.gz is /usr/share/man/man1/pager.1.gz /bin/more - priority 50 slave pager.1.gz: /usr/share/man/man1/more.1.gz /usr/bin/less - priority 77 slave pager.1.gz: /usr/share/man/man1/less.1.gz If that is broken then I could see how the above error could happen. Finally if that is not a local setup issue, then still it would be more likely in dpkg and or less (as the common and default pager - both are auto-installed and I see them updated in your log). I'll re-assign the bug tasks accordingly. ** Package changed: smartmontools (Ubuntu) => dpkg (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: dpkg (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Also affects: less (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1870427 Title: package smartmontools 7.1-1build1 failed to install/upgrade: conffile difference visualizer subprocess returned error exit status 127 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpkg/+bug/1870427/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1870524] [NEW] fallback to SW cursor on GPU hotplug
Public bug reported: I guess the title is pretty much self-explanatory. The issue has been discovered while connecting EVDI-backed device (https://github.com/DisplayLink/evdi) with a running Xorg session and led to filing of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1870512 However, fixing the issue with SW cursor is only a partial solution in that case, as sticking to SW cursor can potentially hinder performance. I am aware of this (dix/dispatch.c): update_desktop_dimensions(); /* * We cannot register the Screen PRIVATE_CURSOR key if cursors are already * created, because dix/privates.c does not have relocation code for * PRIVATE_CURSOR. Once this is fixed the if() can be removed and we can * register the Screen PRIVATE_CURSOR key unconditionally. */ if (!dixPrivatesCreated(PRIVATE_CURSOR)) dixRegisterScreenPrivateKey(, pScreen, PRIVATE_CURSOR, 0); return i; } as well as several other similar places in Xorg's code. Question is: how big effort would it be to actually fix this? Should this be reported/consulted with the upstream directly maybe? Public bug reported: the new default ubuntu boot theme, shows OEM vendor logo during boot, and it looks very slick on UEFI / brand-name laptops. There is large dell/lenovo/etc logos, spinner, ubuntu logo. However, under some boots, there is no vendor logo available (either buggy firmware, buggy firmware settings, or BIOS boot with no logo available, ie. VM). In that case we possibly want to have a fallback graphics in plymouth. Something monochome and big (needs a new asset) i.e. just the canonical circle.
