[Bug 1511461] [NEW] keyboard shortcuts don't work well
Public bug reported: Some keyboard shortcuts don't work properly. For instance, if I hide the 'file' panel, Ctrl+S doesn't save. If I hide tools, F1 doesn't compile and F7 doesn't show the PDF document. Moreover, Ctrl+R never works for replacing but Ctrl+F always searches. [Bug 1730514] [NEW] possible bug in folder name
Public bug reported: Dell XPS 13 9360 here with latest ubuntu (KDE). Clean install as sole operating system. I had a scheduled firmware update that didn't proceed on reboot. I run sudo fwupdmgr update --verbose and got (among other stuff): libfwup.c:1176 get_fd_and_media_path(): open of /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/fw /fwupdate-GfuBQT.cap failed: No such file or directory This is one of the common problems listed in https://github.com/hughsie/fwupd/wiki/Common-Problems In this case it might be a problem in the ubuntu packaging. The correct folder should have been /boot/efi/EFI/ubuntu/fw/ I mean ubuntu here, above it was fedora! The workaround was creating /boot/efi/EFI/fedora/fw/ as per the wiki. It's said there that in the future version the folder will be automatically created. Despite that, I don't see any reason to have a fedora folder in my file system ;) In my way to the workaround I found that archlinux has had a similar problem. [Bug 1592177] Re: Focus drops from search input in GtkFileChooserDialog after first character, which stops searching (broken behaviour)
I'd say the solution is to remove the restore_filechooser_typeaheadfind.patch, see this commit: https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+3.0/commit/?id=99cb6330706eadb58bf9d3c5b77120fdd5971189 After all, such patches were removed from Nautilus for a good reason. [Bug 1803838] Re: Mailman Upgrade to 2.1.29 - Ubuntu 16.04
Hello Hans. Thanks for the update. I guess that would be the case maybe for Mailman 3.0 for example but in the case we are talking about there are several security fixes that are related on the changelog from version 2.1.20 to 2.1.29. I believe the security issues that have been fixed on 2.1.20-1ubuntu0.3 are fixes that were made available until that version on the source code, so to the current latest version there are new pending bug and security fixes to be applied to the package available in the package manager. I don't think pushing a release upgrade is the best approach for a case like this as it doesn't take any backports as necessary or anything that is rather complex like a kernel dependency to be done or that involves other details. There are plenty of reasons to keep running a LTS version with the latest bug and security fixes applied to certain packages until is possible to do a release upgrade. It seems the backport would not be the case for this one as well. Thanks for the tips about bug reporting. I tried to mark the proper package affected but it seems it didn't work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1803838 Title: Mailman Upgrade to 2.1.29 - Ubuntu 16.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mailman/+bug/1803838/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1882388] Re: Touchpad recognised as generic mouse
I had to delete the mainstream kernel as I was having a horrible screen tearing (my graphic card was not supported). I left the kernel parameter "dyndbg='file drivers/input/mouse/* +p'" and, although the issue still exists, it reduces the frequency of times I need to use the "modprobe" workaround.
