Re: New proposed Ubuntu startup and Shutdown sounds.
Hello all, I'm not too fond on those sounds either but this could be the beginning of being possible to customize sounds and alerts in a more detailed manner. I'm guessing this could increase the ISO size as it would need to have a sound base to go along... Thoughts? Re: Error installing apt-get install crossbuild-essential-arm64
Your sources.list could me corrupted or malformed. Can you run sudo apt update correctly and without any errors? As suggested in this question[1], you can try the --no-install-recommends option. Re: paw on Ubuntu 16.04
Hello everyone, This doesn't seem a place to troubleshoot issues with this package (see here <https://community.ubuntu.com/contribute/support/mailinglists/>). The ubuntu-users mailing list should be used instead. The ubuntu-devel list is for the discussion of Ubuntu Development. You can also try to reach the package mailing list (if it exists, even though the development of PAW has been put on hold). Nevertheless, I found this online which you might want to take a look: https://sourceforge.net/p/fink/mailman/message/27961223/ On Sat, 6 May 2017 at 14:04 wrote: > Dear all > I have installed paw via apt-get install paw on my > Dell Xps 13 Developer's edition with Ubuntu 16.04 > Trying to read an ntuple I get the message > > CSALLO: pointer difference too large to be represented by integer. > You probably need to link PAW statically on 64-bit systems > > How I may through it ? > > thanks a lot > Maurizio Bonesini > INFN Milano Bicocca > > > > > -- > Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list > Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com > Modify settings or unsubscribe at: > https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss > -- Best Regards / Obrigado e com os melhores cumprimentos, Gustavo Silva -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss
Show & Tell: Open Source Online Conference
Hello all, I hereby would like to discuss one idea the Lubuntu team has came up with in this previous UOS ( http://summit.ubuntu.com/uos-1505/meeting/22484/community-1505-planning-session/ ). The idea is to basically create regular online conferences, where people have the place to show their personal & business projects, people can educate others, explain their point of view of given topics and so on. Be aware: The concept is not strict to those kind of conferences. It still needs some work around, but the basic idea is there. You can find it relatively well developed in the below link (Apologies for using Google on this one, but I believe it is the most easy-to-use tool for the time being): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1d1qDnuooN7a7L64veURqIM0-NY8AZRw5eVMHHn67oXs/edit?usp=sharing Why the conferences? Well, this increases the incentives and the enthusiasm of new people to stick around and learn new things. And, of course, it is an opportunity for people to show themselves to the world. You have an idea? Your business is way more productive because you use open source strategically? You would like to explain to others how to do this or that? Well then, you are more than qualified to propose a session and later discuss it online. My intention to email you all about this idea is because I do not believe in its success unless we all gather strengths and do this together - assuming some of you guys are interested, of course. Besides, it is an idea that is open to all of us, and not only Lubuntu - or Ubuntu. I am up to debate anything in regard to this project. I am willing to schedule a Hangout session if there is the need for it. Feel free to reply with any suggestion, question or just to send me to hell :-) Thank you for your time!
