Re: Ogv support in software center
It's no secret that this idea sprung from (possibly the lack-of) a Steam-like service. Though it makes sense for Steam to include all steam-community features in one software package, I don't see how this couldn't be extended to the software-center too. I think that Ubuntu-one, and possibly empathy/gwibber couldn't be integrated too. Re: Ogv support in software center
That is a good point, I think though if we provide a strong template and keep everything consistent and logical it should be ok. I'd imagine only package maintainers could alter the package page to enforce this. My only reservation is that too much freedom in the layout may compromise visual structure and consistency. Adding to that, the ability to add more user created data as well, may make it even more consistent. Re: Ogv support in software center
Totally support the idea. Would be great if they included it in Natty maybe. That's a great idea actually! 2010/10/29, Chris Hardee : > It's probably been talked about before, but as proposed here: > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/GamesIntegration > > I think we need add ogv/movie support in software-center to show off games > and some applications (I'm thinking like CAD software and such so users can > get a feel for how interactive it is). Ogv support in software center
It's probably been talked about before, but as proposed here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/GamesIntegration I think we need add ogv/movie support in software-center to show off games and some applications (I'm thinking like CAD software and such so users can get a feel for how interactive it is). In fact I think we should have the application page be a webkit widget and possibly have html5 interaction. -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss
