I have the same issue with nvidia kernel but nouveau works fine. Only an Alt-Sysrq-B gets any response even in recovery mode for 2.6.35-14-generic kernel. Fortunately, I still had a mainline kernel (2.6.34-020634-generic) from testing before I upgraded to Maverick from Lucid. This kernel in recovery mode allowed me to get back in to set nouveau as the driver. I just made a number of tests regarding this bug. I can confirm that the bug exists, and that it does not appear on amd64. Furthermore, I've tried using a vanilla gzip 1.3.12 and 1.3.13, both which fail with the same error. However, both vanilla versions AND ubuntu version work if you set CFLAGS=-DNOMEMCPY, which causes gzip to use byte-by-byte transfers instead of calling memcpy() In other words, this proves that it cannot have anything to do with the rsync patches. There must be a rarely-triggered bug in memcpy(), which only crops up on 32-bit. I have reproduced the problem with libmediawiki-perl 1.13-1.1 in lucid and have
verified that the version of libmediawiki-perl 1.13-1.1ubuntu0.10.04.1 in
-proposed fixes the issue.
I have run the script below and verified that the content is edited and
that the username (instead of the IP address) is displayed in the
history showing that 'Username' was logged in. I did the test with
wikipedia, if someone could test that it is still working with an older
release of mediawiki that would be perfect, but I think we can accept it
because Angars already did that test successfully.

I've implemented this for my wife as an autorun script on the external disk, which starts the backup. This works in Ubuntu (I don't know about other distro's). The only drawbacks are that it pops up a window asking the user if she want to execute this removable medium, and that you'll be depending on a proper setup in the configuration file, that will not be on the external disk. I do this with sbackup, but I'm sure it will work with nssbackup as the only feature you need is a command to start the backup. It wouldn't be difficult for [ns]sbackup to have an option in the gui to install itself onto a particular external disk. You could get some level of authorization by setting a custom backup path (possibly including a hash key in its name) that points to a directory on the external disk, and cancel backup if it doesn't exist. After moving the iso image to /tmp and choosing that path instead, it worked. While the workaround is easy, for people not used to reading python stack traces it is not obvious what to do. [Bug 616660] [NEW] evolution-mapi does not connect the server
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution-mapi I managed to get around the problem reported at https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/616294 by downloading the appropriate libedata-cal1.2-6_2.28.3.1-0ubuntu2_amd64.deb manually from launchpad. I created an evolution account for the server type MAPI.
