[Bug 1662552] Re: snaps don't work with NFS home

2017-11-04 Thread Björn Torkelsson
@ogra Ah, thanks for the info.

@zyga Switched to the beta channel, but still not working :-(

name="/tmp/snap.rootfs_J0J8C2/home/" pid=13237 comm="snap-confine"
srcname="/import/home/" flags="rw, rbind"

After switching to the beta channel I also tried
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/snapd/+bug/1662552/comments/5
but that didn't help.

I assume that there are still some problems when /home is a symbolic
link to /import/home (i.e
https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapcraft/+bug/1620771)?

[Bug 1662552] Re: snaps don't work with NFS home

2017-08-16 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Any news on this bug (for 16.04)?

Unfortunately the workaround does not work for me.

In my case /home is a link to /import/home (i.e home is autofs mounted),
so I guess my problem is also related to #1620771?

Btw, I assume that /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.snapd.snap-confine in the
workaround should really be /etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.snapd.snap-
confine.real ?

i *never* feel the urge to interact with them (except for the case where

personally found the new notifications a big relief when they landed and
still find them to be very convenient *specifically* because you can not
interact with them, they make you develop better habits regarding your

i find it awesome that there are desktops like cinnamon where people
that love to interact with desktop elements can do that, but i haven't
found any desktop where all these little things like the above actually
sum up to make you so much more productive by simply going out of your
way like i have it in unity. i personally prefer to interact with

I mostly agree with you and I think how it currently works is awesome and
does not interrupt what you are doing. There are two exceptions, of which
you mentioned one. The case when you need to read what's behind the
notification and can't move the pointer over the notification so it fades
away. The other case is when you (for some reason) want to copy the text in
the notification and/or for some reason want to make it persistent.

If you can't move the pointer, you wouldn't be able to dismiss it even if
 it was
 clickable.

Move the pointer, dismiss the notification, move back the pointer. Continue
to work.

vs

Move the pointer, the notification fades away, move the pointer, the
notification fades in again.

vs

Take a coffee break while waiting for the notification to go away :-)

  The other case is
when you (for some reason) want to copy the text in the notification
 and/or for
some reason want to make it persistent.

Notifications become persistent in the indicators. Clicking the appropriate
indicator should bring you to the actual application which should then
 allow you
 to copy the required text.

Not necessarily. A (really bad) example is if you have something using
notify-send, then there are probably no indicator. But sure you can always
argue that it is a bad-written software and/or you can use something like
https://launchpad.net/~jconti/+archive/ubuntu/recent-notifications

i think marc meant to say that notifications on the desktop will stay as
is (hopefully they do !!) even with unity8 ... on a phone you surely
want to have a way to dismiss them (swipe them away to the sides or so)
since they eat significant screen space there and you don't have a mouse
pointer to make them transparent as easily to see-trough them.

[Bug 1371058] Re: Regression: Latest apt security update returns Hash Sum mismatch for file: URI:s

2014-09-19 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Hi,

Tried the lucid and precise packages from the ppa:

1. Copied the packages from the ppa to our local mirror
2. Cleaned /var/lib/apt/lists and /var/lib/apt/lists/partial
3. ran apt-get update
4. ran apt-get dist-upgrade
5. ran apt-get update

Work on both lucid and precise. On precise I have also tried skipping
step 2. and that works too.

Thanks for a quick response and fix! With 1000+ servers that is really
appreciated :-)

[Bug 1371058] [NEW] Latest apt returns Hash Sum mismatch for file: URI:s

2014-09-18 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Public bug reported:

When running 'apt-get update' on Ubuntu Lucid using 0.7.25.3ubuntu9.16
I get Hash Sum mismatch when using file: URI:s.

First time running apt-get update after cleaning /var/lib/dpkg/lists/
and /var/lib/dpkg/lists/partial it works. However the second time I get:

Runnng apt-get -o Acquire::CompressionTypes::Order=gz changing to bz2 every
second it works.

Reverting back to 0.7.25.3ubuntu9.15 it works.

And, of course, it works if only using http: URI:s.

Looks like a regression in 0.7.25.3ubuntu9.16

2011-05-06 Thread Björn Torkelsson
It happens for me when using the linux Spotify client (which is using
QT) and dragging a song to a playlist. Work around in this case is to
quit Spotify, then the launcher starts to autohide again. It happens no
matter if the launcher is visible or not when I start dragging the song
to the playlist.

It does happen when I'm authenticated and yes I can reproduce it

[Bug 415095] [NEW] tv_grab_se_swedb does not work anymore

2009-08-17 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xmltv

In Karmic tv_grab_se_swedb does not work anymore since it tries to fetch
a remote url containing channel information, using LWP::Simple. However
tv_grab_swedb assumes that it get a compressed file from LWP::Simple but
in recent versions of LWP::Simple it returns an uncompressed files
instead.

For reference please see:
http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.tv.xmltv.devel/9148

It should be fixed in xmltv 0.5.56, though I haven't verified it. I have
verified that the version mentioned in the xmltv thread above works.
0.5.56 of xmltv is available in Debian unstable.

[Bug 375410] Re: Keybinding missing for quitting screen

2009-05-27 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Hm, yes it is a problem that all F-keys are already used. I think it
would be nice to have an as easy way to close windows/session as it is
to create new windows.

How about have a dialog for deleting windows and/or closing the session?
I.e someting similar to Manage default windows but that allows you to
select which windows to close and/or the whole session.

[Bug 375410] [NEW] Keybinding missing for quitting screen

2009-05-12 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: byobu

There are keybindings for detaching and for locking, but there is no
keybinding for quitting the whole session. Instead you have to quit each
window individually.

Also a keybinding for closing a window is missing, you either have to
type exit if it is a shell or know what keys to hit to close the program
running in window.

Both of these may very well be just missing documentation.

 Hi

[...]

Maybe it's just some hidden default setting I don't know about, but it
bothers me that my maillogs are gone and I can't even set it up right.
It looks to me as if the global default isn't being used, or it's
 overwritten somewhere.

2008-11-04 Thread Björn Torkelsson
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: musica

Instead of having all artists in one large directory, I have split them
by the first letter. Currently muscia does not support this schema.

I also have some of the music directly under the the Artist and not

directly under Artist and some under Artist/Album, but if not it would
be nice if that worked too.

No, 284409 is also over wireless.

LarryGrover, can you try to add the CA certificate to /etc/ssl/certs and
then rehash it. I.e after putting the CA in for example
/etc/ssl/certs/myUniversityCA.pem, run 'update-ca-certificates --fresh',
and then try again. Without the CA certificate specified in nm.

$ openssl verify -verbose -CAfile umueduroamca.pem umu_eduroam_bjto0001.pem
umu_eduroam_bjto0001.pem: OK

So, yes the certificate is OK.

However if I remove the CA certificate (I still have it in
/etc/ssl/certs though) it seems to be working (I will test more
tomorrow).

When trying to readd the CA certificate in the n-m connection manager I
get the following error:
