Also, now Update Manager will not work. I get a Not all updates can be
installed error message. There are two options - Partial Upgrade and
Close. I did not try Partial Upgrade, clicking Close bring up another
error dialog Software Index is broken. It is impossible to install or
remove any software. run sudo apt-get install -f. When try that
in a terminal, it just tries to remove vsftpd, and fails with the same
messages.
