Install problem... The configuration defaults for gnome power
managment have not been installed correctly. contact your computer
administrator.

I have not much clue as to how to attend to this. Seeking help from
anyone who would understand this.

Thanks

They send by professional courier or dtdc. There are some discounts
too. Prompt and courteous service, decent packing.

Re: [ubuntu-in] open office crash

2010-05-24 Thread nikhil n
Dear all,

First of all thanks for the overwhelming support

I had zipped a 600 kb document ( in zip format) and sent it over the
the e-mail). After I disconnected the net and clicked to open the
zipped folder the OO crashed. I tried restarting number of times.
Then i deleted the folder from the desk-top ( where i had placed it
originally). Since I had deleted the the zip folder, I again
downloaded from the mail I had sent. That is the sequence of what I
did.

Let me try out the suggestions in this string of mails and will post
the result.

Thanks again.

Nikhil

You are deleting the .openoffice (note: the (dot) openoffice) which
contains user configuration and not any executables or program files.

Really surprise/wonder. when you deleted the openoffice.org folder -
everything including short-cut icon moved to trash - in that situation,
 how
to open openoffice in the absence of icon(shortcut)?

 Hi Nikhil,

I have faced this issue a lot of times.
What we do is delete the .openoffice.org folder in users home folder.
Opening openoffice after that will recreate the deleted folder.

 Interesting solution

I have never faced this particular problem so would like to know what
 may
 be the causes.

[ubuntu-in] open office crash

2010-05-23 Thread nikhil n
Dear friends at ubuntu forum,

I am a new user of Ubuntu and using 9.10.

I am happily hooked on.

Last evening while working on the open office word processor it
suddenly crashed. Ever since, it is in the recovery mode and does not
close or recover.

I am kind of lost. Can any one help me through this
