Looking for co-maintaining

2014-03-13 Thread Jörg Frings-Fürst
Hi,

first a little bit from me: I am Jörg Frings-Fürst from Niederkail, a
little village near by Trier, Germany.

In the late 80s I studied computer science.

My first linux was the S.u.S.E. 4.3.

Now I am looking for a project that I can support as Co-Maintainer.

Is there an overview of relevant projects?

My Launchpad Id is jff-de.

Thanks

Jörg

depnendecies of package rkward (<= 0.5.7)

2014-03-13 Thread meik michalke
hi,

i'm part of the development team of RKWard. we're having a nasty problem with
older packages of RKWard included in ubuntu before 13.10: a lot of people try
to run it with R >= 3.0.0, which is not supported until RKWard 0.6.1.

allthough this issue is explained as top news on http://rkward.sf.net since
april 2013, there's a constant stream of crash reports on the devel mailing
list. would you please consider updating the dependecies of all rkward-
packages before 0.6.1 to require r-base-core < 3.0.0 ? since it's also
impossible to build older versions of RKWard against R 3.0, this would make
perfect sense.
