2014-03-02 Thread Flittermice
I'm not sure because I moved to Arch in the meantime, but I think I
solved the problems by installing libapache2-mod-php5filter instead.
Didn't have any problems with that.

RE: Aiming for Qemu 2.0 in 14.04

2014-03-02 Thread Doug Smythies
On 2014.02.26 10:41 Serge Hallyn wrote:
 as shown https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1284793
we are hoping to get Qemu 2.0 into 14.04. This is tricky due to
the timing - Qemu 2.0 release is scheduled for April 4
 ( http://wiki.qemu.org/Planning/2.0 ), with freeze for 14.04 being
April 10. However, the drastic reduction in patches carried in
the package, given the length of the LTS cycle, would be worthwhile.

In an attempt to shake out bugs as early as possible, I've started
building packages based on current git HEAD at ppa:ubuntu-virt/candidate.
This seems to be testing quite well for me on amd64. It would be
great if people could start testing the version in this ppa where
 possible, as early as possible.

If we do run into bugs, we can hopefully get them fixed upstream before
release. If we can't get them fixed, then we'll know to stick with the
 1.7 based qemu for 14.04.

Since the start of this 14.04 cycle I have been running Ubuntu 14.04
Desktop on an Ubuntu 12.04 server under KVM / QEMU.

As of 2014.02.17 it became broken, and remains broken.

I thought (hoped) this stuff might help.

I created a new Ubuntu 14.04 server on a spare partition with the daily
64 bit iso of 2014.03.01
I created a new guest VM 14.04 64 bit desktop with the daily iso of
2014.03.02. Same problem.

I added the above mentioned PPA, upgraded etc. Same problem.

I.E. Because things are broken anyhow, I can not create a baseline
from which to say if the new stuff is better or not.

... Doug
