[Bug 594847] Re: Samba doesn't work in Lucid over PPPoE
Any chance that your PPPoE setup just filters the SMB ports ? If you have a Windows system available, does it manage to browse shares through this connection ? -- Samba doesn't work in Lucid over PPPoE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/594847 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 594847] Re: Samba doesn't work in Lucid over PPPoE
I don't know, where is the PPPoE configuration by default? I don't recall blocking anything manually. My Windows XP PC certainly sees other computers in the network (but not mine laptop with Ubuntu), I forgot to try to browse them. My Ubuntu laptop doesn't see anything listed and is unable to browse others shares. I'll be around this PC in roughly a week.
Could you attach your /etc/samba/smb.conf file ? Did it use to work in Karmic ? When you say I don't see shares, you mean you can't browse to find theml, or you can't connect to them explicitly using smb://IPADDRESS/SHARE ? ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- Samba doesn't work in Lucid over PPPoE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/594847 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 594847] Re: Samba doesn't work in Lucid over PPPoE
I didn't check by IP. I'm not sure if it worked in Karmic as I didn't use PPPoE back then. Now I also don't use it (it's in my parents' house and I'm back to mine today), but here I see all the shares properly. I meant I cannot browse and I can't connect to them using: smb://COMPUTER_NAME/ ** Attachment added: smb.conf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/50429558/smb.conf -- Samba doesn't work in Lucid over PPPoE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/594847 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
