[Bug 1094438] [NEW] Samba crashes invalid pointer: 0x00007f0bc3de7590

2012-12-29 Thread Dmitriy Altuhov
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Samba 2:3.6.3-2ubuntu2.3
krb5-config 2.2
Samba on ubuntu joined to Windows 2003 domain
Share on /media/100RAGE = /dev/md0 (software raid5)

getent passwd, getent group working fine.
All working fine, except I see errors in samba logs.

We have two of the same server with the same configuration (differents
only in hostname).

Samba crushes after opening shared folder from windows workstation on
both servers.

** Affects: samba (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Attachment added: logs, configs

[Bug 1033727] Re: USB passthrough doesn't work anymore with qemu-kvm 1.1.1

2012-12-29 Thread Peter Schaefer
Just confirming the bug. I'm having the same issues with the same USB
smart card reader as the submitter (Kobil mIDentity) on Debian Squeeze
using the qemu-kvm version 1.2.0 from debian-backports. Going back to
1.0 fixes the problem (http://snapshot.debian.org/package/qemu-
kvm/1.0%2Bdfsg-8~bpo60%2B1).

Since I can easily toggle between versions i could provide more support,
if wanted and instructions provided...

[Bug 1033727] Re: USB passthrough doesn't work anymore with qemu-kvm 1.1.1

2012-12-29 Thread Peter Schaefer
Referring to my last comment: The URL does only work if you add a
backslash at the end, sorry about that.

One last note: In Germany, the Kobil USB Reader is/was supplied by DATEV
(see http://www.datev.com/) to their members/partners. So, anybody who's
running DATEV software on kvm-virtualized systems will run into this
problem.

[Bug 1094461] Re: irqbalance spamming syslogd. Higher than normal system load.

2012-12-29 Thread Dave Gilbert
Hi Alistair,
Could you include a copy of your syslog showing the irqbalance errors; it's
probably be useful to include the output of dmesg, and any other relevant logs.

** Changed in: irqbalance (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1094438] Re: Samba crashes invalid pointer: 0x00007f0bc3de7590

2012-12-29 Thread Dave Gilbert
It would be better if you could upload this bug info with apport-collect
and that will get a full set of diagnostic logs.

You might also want to install the -dbgsym package (
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash ) that will get a much
more detailed backtrace if you can't upload the crash logs directly.

[Bug 1094547] [NEW] setkey fails to detect invalid use of esp-udp with IPv6

2012-12-29 Thread Mikael Magnusson
Public bug reported:

I guess esp-udp is not supported in IPv6. But when adding a SAD with
IPv6 and esp-udp, the error is silently ignored and no SAD is added. I
expect the command to fail and an error message to be output when adding
an unsupported SAD.

I modified an example from man setkey below:

#!/usr/sbin/setkey -f

add 3ffe:501:4819::1 3ffe:501:481d::1 esp-udp 123457

[Bug 1094556] [NEW] confusing typo in /etc/default/openvswitch-controller

2012-12-29 Thread Saul St. John
Public bug reported:

Line 11 of /etc/default/openvswitch-controller, describing options for
the LISTEN variable, says:

# * pctp:[PORT]: Listen for TCP connections on the specified PORT

That is incorrect; the 'c' and 't' are transposed. It should instead
read:

# * ptcp:[PORT]: Listen for TCP connections on the specified PORT

[Bug 1094461] Re: irqbalance spamming syslogd. Higher than normal system load.

2012-12-29 Thread Dave Gilbert
Medium - Moderate impact on core application

Thanks Alistair,
OK, so it is a little chatty in syslogd - but it's still only about 1 or 2 a
minute; I wouldn't have thought that would be the cause of your system load,
perhaps that's something separate. Anyway, I'll leave this to someone more
knowledgeable about irqbalance to look at.

I replaced the binary from the shipped version of IRQBalance (1.0.3?) to
the latest provided on the irqbalance website (1.0.5) and this seems to
have corrected the issue on my multiprocessor system.
