[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 807584] Re: Oneiric alpha 2 live session freezes on startup
I can't do that because I can't launch a terminal, switching to text console does not work and you can't ssh in the machine. However, X itself is not frozen. I can move the mouse, activate top panel thingies and so on. Pressing the power button shuts down the machine cleanly. I have run apport-collect on this machine many times and the data can be found in e.g. bug 801034. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/807584 Title: Oneiric alpha 2 live session freezes on startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/807584/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 777950] Re: Adobe Flash performance extremly slow using ATI fglrx driver
I saw this behavior with catalyst 11.5 (fglrx 8.850) on HD 4290. I updated to catalyst 11.7 (fglrx 8.872) and at the same time updated to flash 11 beta. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 816337] Re: [i965gm] False GPU lockup EIR: 0x00000010 PGTBL_ER: 0x00000100
Matthew Paul Thomas - I've forwarded this bug upstream to http://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39962 - please subscribe yourself to this bug, in case they need further information or wish you to test something. In general, these false gpu lockups aren't something we're terribly worried about; the only user-visible effect is the apport popup and we turn that off for release. However, it does hint at something being not quite right under the hood in how the system is loading up the kernel video driver; I've chatted with apw about this and we investigated a few ideas but the fact that it still is happening means those fixes weren't sufficient, so I'm forwarding it upstream to see if we can get some additional ideas or advice. Theoretically we could probably suppress the error dialog, however this potentially could mask real bugs, so I'd prefer leaving apport as is and hope this issue gets sorted out eventually. If you file additional bug reports on this same issue, please go ahead and dupe those reports to this report, which we'll use as the master for your issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/816337 Title: [i965gm] False GPU lockup EIR: 0x0010 PGTBL_ER: 0x0100 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/816337/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 823588] [NEW] ATI driver suggested by Jockey makes system unusable
Public bug reported: Testing Oneiric Alpha 3 on an Insprion 1122 with an ATI video card. I had issues with screen corruption when connecting an external display using the OSS driver, so I opened Jockey and tried using the Proprietary driver instead. This was even worse, however, because I was almost unable to use the system while the proprietary driver was loaded. I had to drop to a shell and use jockey-text to remove it before I could use the system again. So, the proprietary driver that Jockey is suggesting for ATI cards in Oneiric Alpha 3 breask the system. The driver needs to be fixed, or blacklisted from Jockey so that users don't end up with an unusable Oneiric system. ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/823588 Title: ATI driver suggested by Jockey makes system unusable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/823588/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 823603] [NEW] Updated NVIDIA drivers fail to support 1024 x 768 resolution
Public bug reported: System = UBUNTU 10.04.3 LTS This has happened before - a few months ago. An additional update then fixed the problem, after a short while. But nvidia-xconfig hasn't solved the pb - the new config is lacking some supporting packages .. So this time around, I'm running on 640-480, like back to DOS days.
