[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1413572] [NEW] Mouve cursor gets splitted
Public bug reported: Hi, Since a few upgrades of my ubuntu 14.10 (utopic), I have a very annoyng behaviour: almost every time I try to create a bookmark by dragdropping the favicon to the Bookmarks Toolbar or simply move a bookmark or directory inside the Bookmark Toolbar, my mouse cursor gets splitted into two parts. Unfortunately, I can't take a screenshot, since this resolves the problem... I'm not sure the problem comes from Firefox or Xorg's/driver, so I'll post a bug report on both lists. Computer is a Dell Latitude E5530. Also apparent in 14.04 with Synaptics Touchpad. If the cursor is in motion while the left touchpad button is pressed, the click event only occurs after a long delay. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1412730] Re: DELL U2415 monitor detection issues
** Summary changed: - DELL U2415M monitor detection issues + DELL U2415 monitor detection issues ** Description changed: My Laptop HP Elitebook 8740w has two external screens connected. 1 DELL U2412M connected to vga connector - 1 DELL U2415M connected to Displayport. + 1 DELL U2415 connected to Displayport. I worked for about a year with a single external display, just U2412M on the displayport without the issue I decribe. The first issue: When booting up and with screens attatched and active, the 2415 boots in 1024x768 resolution, the 2412 boots at the same moment in 1920x1200 as it should. - At the point where the login screen appears the 2415 goes in power save mode, most of the time. + At the point where the login screen appears the 2415 goes in power save mode, most of the time. The 2412 displays just fine at the moment. After logging in, turning the 2415 off and on, sometimes helps the get the screen active (out of power save). When it gets active, the resoltion is 1024x768, not 1920x1200. In unity-control-center in display settings the 2415 is displayed as Unknown Display and the maximum resolution I can select is 1024x768. Second issue: After a laptop suspend the 2415 doenst alway become active again, the 2412 always. Turning off an on the 2415 multiple time mostly helps to get the screen active. Current partial workaround: xorg.conf with monitor section for 1920x1200 as in attatchment. This doesn't solve booting in 1024x768, but solves the resolution after logging in. unity-control-center still lists Unknown Screen Another strange behavior: when executing xrandr command, most of the time the 2415 stays in 1024, but after a number of executions the screen swithes to 1920x1200. At that moment xrandr outputs all possible resolutions as it should. When executing xrandr another time the 2415 switches back to 1024x768 Already tried kernel v3.18.3-vivid, no change. Also tried Utopic live cd, no change. Tried Windows 8.1, no issues with both screens. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1413710] [NEW] Xorg crash - fullscreen YouTube video
Public bug reported: I was listening to this YouTube video: http://www.infinitelooper.com/?v =-tJYN-eG1zkp=n When I decided to make it full screen, but it didn't want to go, so I very quickly double-clicked on it twice, and then the entire screen went black. And no matter what I did, it go away. Although I could still hear the music from the video. As I couldn't do anything really about it I had to hold down my power button and force it to shutdown. And when it started up the screen was fine. It is a laptop so I don't think that the monitor just turned off or something. [Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1377220] Re: Google Chrome crash with mesa 10.3 on Intel GPU
With Chrome 40, the problem isn't properly fixed for me. HW acceleration does work, but the display/graphic session still crashes in full screen (tested with youtube html5 player), especially when you use a compiz animation (I often use the scale plugin). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to mesa in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1377220 Title: Google Chrome crash with mesa 10.3 on Intel GPU To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/chromium-browser/+bug/1377220/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Ubuntu-x-swat] [Bug 1314367] Re: Flickering with Ubuntu 14.04 and nvidia card reappeared
Compiz works for me: (Force full screen redraws (buffer swap) on repaint [x]) Ubuntu 14.04 fully updated Quadro K420/PCIe/SSE2 Needed to switch from Nouveau (to edgers Nvidia 340.58) to resolved DisplayPort not handling screen saver / blanking, and poor performance (or X server crash) with DVI (Dual Link). I have just upgraded to a Samsung 27 with 2560 x 1440 resolution. The K420 video card was also required, as earlier cards (NSA 310, NVS 315) could not keep up with higher resolution. Tearing and remnants on full screen video or larger scaling of some applications. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1314367 Title: Flickering with Ubuntu 14.04 and nvidia card reappeared To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1314367/+subscriptions ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
