[UC] sitter for two kitties needed for four months
forwarded: From: archange...@hotmail.com To: univcity@list.purple.com; grapev...@uchs.net; pf...@mec.sas.upenn.edu ; ucneighbors-boun...@hector.asc.upenn.edu Subject: temp home for two [one by one ok] great cats please Date: Thu, 21 Jan 2010 08:47:11 -0500 Dear neighbors, I need your help fostering my two [one by one is ok] wonderful kitties for about four months or I cannot leave for a teaching assignment. I had it all set up with a house sitter but he developed allergies; I had to postpone my leave to find a solution. Bouba is a sweet 4 year old green tabby and Malisha an affectionate smallish black [11 while hears on the chest!].They are a blessing to have around and I consider Bouba a therapy cat. Malisha needs to go out a lot and although gorgeous is not photogenic. Thank you. Ana Linda's note: list Purple is being fussy about attachment size again, so if anyone wants to see photos of these lovely 2 kitties please email Ana (or return email me).
[UC] Bulack Boys Part of Unique Performance Honoring Memory of Young Holocaust Victims
Hello All, I wanted to let you all know that there is an especially moving tribute to young victims of the Holocaust being presented this week, and it was wonderfully described in today's Inquirer. It's an opera called Brundibar. Below is the link to the article. http://www.philly.com/inquirer/magazine/82230507.html There you will also find the schedule of performances at the International House this coming week. My sons David and Ian have had the priviledge of participating, working with Karen Saillant, whose amazing talent as director of the International Opera Theater has been a life-changing force for them and for me. This re-enactment of an opera that was produced 55 times by children in the concentration camp of Theresenstadt brings home poignantly the bittersweet nature of experiences that made up life for them all. Here is another link showing interviews with some of the survivors who were part of the original cast, telling how every time they performed the opera they were making a statement about overcoming Hitler, because the villain looked like him: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=2512408ntag=related;photovideo I hope that you will come and see the show, not only because David and Ian are in it, but also because it will be an unforgettable experience, both educational and emotional. Thanks, Patty Bulack
