Releasing 2.6.0 GA creates a maintenance branch for
backwards-compatible patches towards 2.6.1, 2.6.2, etc. and frees the
HEAD for evolutionary work.

With Eric's recent burst of activity to tie off niggling remaining
issues, I think we've gotten what we're going to get out of an RC
series on this and need to put this binary out there and start work
towards a 2.6.1 etc.

+1 to release 2.6.0 GA.

So currently there have only been two +1 votes. There has been some
voiced support and descent but no actual votes. Any of the other
committers out there have a chance to check out and give 2.6 a quick trial?

Re: [uportal-dev] VOTE to release 2.6.0 GA

2007-08-07 Thread Timothy Carroll

the only major impediment that i see is the xalan 2.7.0 requirement.

it is a problem for those of us using netbeans for development

there may be a work-around, but i have yet to find one that is desirable...

[uportal-dev] VOTE to release 2.6.0 GA

2007-08-07 Thread Andrew Petro

uPortal developers,

I write to call the question of releasing uPortal 2.6.0
general audience, the further incremental improvement on the
available RC2,
as staged in SVN as

https://www.ja-sig.org/svn/up2/tags/rel-2-6-0-GA/

Releasing 2.6.0 GA creates a maintenance branch for
backwards-compatible patches towards 2.6.1, 2.6.2, etc. and frees the
HEAD for evolutionary work.

With Eric's recent burst of activity to tie off niggling remaining
issues, I think we've gotten what we're going to get out of an RC
series on this and need to put this binary out there and start work
towards a 2.6.1 etc.

+1 to release 2.6.0 GA.

Andrew
