[libreoffice-users] How to change the line color of the comments once and for all

2015-05-21 Thread Michael Wu
Dear all,

In Libreoffice Calc 3.6, the line color of the comments is
black. But in Libreoffice Calc 4.3.7, the color is changed. Although we
can change the color back to black by Right click the comment --
click [Line] -- change the color, it is really troublesome for all
the calc files. Please help to give the setting that we can do once and
for all.

 Thank you and best regards.

Have you tried OPTIONS LIBREOFFICE APPEARANCE ?

Hi Emil,

Thank you for your suggestion. However, I can change the background
color of the comments by Options -- Libreoffice -- Appearance
-- Spreadsheet -- Notes background, but I don't find one that can
change the line color of the comments.

Thank you and best regards.

Please fill the following cells with a simple letter:
 L17=Z
 L18=B
 L19=Y
 L20=R
 L21=Q
 L22=P

Now select those 6 cells and click on the Down/Up arrow in the toolbar
(Sort), select Sort Key 1 : Z, Ascending, then click OK. Expected
result was B-P-Q-R-Y-Z, but the Z did not move at all ! =-O

This is undoubtedly a serious bug... and nobody has detected this
 before? How strange.

For me, the bug is confirmed. First cell doesn't sort.

 Ciao

It is seemed the first cell is used as a label, not data. If we add one
more cell L16, set L16=Test, and select those 7 cells ( L16 ~ L22 ) to
sort, then we will get the result B-P-Q-R-Y-Z.

Hope it helps and best regards.

Dear all,

If you use the hidden comments in your libreoffice spreadsheet,
I suggest not using the current release 4.2.0.4 because the hidden
comments may get disappeared without any warning. I have reported this
issue to the bugzilla as the bug 75236. Please be careful to use the
4.2.0.4 release.

[libreoffice-users] How to transfer customised styles between documents in LO 4

2013-10-07 Thread Michael Wu
Dear all,

From one reply shown below on 2012/05/04 in this mailing list,
we can transfer customized styles between documents.

 ..
 File Templates Organize
In the lower drop-down-list choose Documents.
In the upper left part double-click source document and in the
upper right target document.
Double click Styles of the source document.
Drag the style _while holding down Strg-key_ to the target
document Styles.
Close dialog. The imported style is available immediately.

 Kind regards
 Regina

However, it is seemed this feature is disappeared in LO 4. Please help
to check if there is any way that we can transfer customized styles
between documents ?

Thank you and Regards,

In the uploaded Calc file 'Grade_CellBehavior.ods' the column AE and BH are
just simple cells with number values.

The Sheet '1.' in this file is a sheet from another, bigger Calc file (
called here 'file1' ) in which I have such sheets for every pupil.

I have also a Calc file 'file2' in which I have too such columns, as AE and
BH, but cells in these columns are not just cells with number values, but
 links for 'file1'.

So, in the school I fill out the cells in the 'file1' file, come home, copy
the 'file1' into approppriate directory, open the 'file2' Calc file and get
the values into it from 'file1' automatically.

I hope this is cleare so far.

As one can see in 'Grade_CellBehavior.ods' when one change the value '3' in
AE6 to value '2' then the value in AD6 changes automatically to value !?.
This shows me that that a teacher closed the grade for that Subject badly.

But this doesn't work in the 'file2', because eg. the value in AE6 is not
just a number, but a value that we get is a link from 'file1'.

 I hope this is clear.

How can I solve this to works in the 'file2' too?

Have marked your File -- Send Java Bug

 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=50371 50371 .

It is probably related to the JRE problems folks are having with the Java
 Access Bridge based Accessibility features.
But the JRE 1.7 misconfiguration issues are really only affecting Windows
users (32-bit and 64-bit) the problems are with Windows unique configruation
issues with the LibreOffice build and in JRE configuration under Windows
 (registry, system environment, user environment).

More activity on the earlier 50371 report, and I have added the primary
Windows build maintainer to the Bug.

Thank you very much for this, this has at least fixed it so L.O. will at
least start up again so that is half the battle. I am still going to
have to install java 631 once I actually find it because L.O. definitely
does not like this java 7 update. If I try to enable accessibility it
says that this JRE is defective. Fortunately I may have the old
 installer laying around somewhere.

 Thanks again.

 Hi all.
Well the subject pretty much says it, I got a notification there was
an update to Java, I believe it is java 7 update five. Once I did the
 update my install
of Libre Office no longer works. As soon as I try to start the
program I get the standard windows 7 message about a problem has
caused libre office to stop working, Windows will close
the program, blah blah blah. I have tried repairing the install and
when that did not do anything I went so far as to remove the whole
 install and re-
install Libre Office. Still no joy.
I am not sure if this is an accessibility problem or not, I do know
that the java update did totally screw my install of access bridge as
 well and I
had to re-install that too. This is the first time I’ve ever had a
java update screw things up this way.
Needless to say I am not a happy camper, I depend on this program to
do paperwork for work here at home. Has anyone else had this happen
with this java update? I am
running the 32-bit version of windows 7. I have posted this to the
accessibility list too but am posting it here in case it is not
 related to the
accessibility settings and is a general problem.

One user on the accessibility list suggested that I try putting the
java 631 version back on the system and see if that solves the
problem. I know the java folks don’t recommend you do things like
this but I’m frankly willing to if it will get this fixed for now. If
anyone has any other ideas on how to fix this or if you need more info
 just let me know.
 Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem here, running jre 7 on XP and installing the newest
 LibreOffice.
The problem was fixed by removing javasettings_Windows_x86.xml (I actually
just renamed it to javasettings_Windows_x86.xm0) and then when I started
LibreOffice a new and correct version was created. The old xml file
contained info about the jre6, which was not there any longer.
Apparently LO 3.5.4.2 didn't detect the correct Java version when
 upgrading from LO 3.4.xx.
That xml file was located inside \LibreOffice\3\user\config\ inside the
 user\AppData folder

 Hi :)
It is quite likely to be true for everyone. A bug-report would be nice.
Both of these links do the same thing and i am not sure which you would
 prefer using
 http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport
 https://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/bug/
The official one is quite pretty and helpful. The wiki one gives a lot of
 info.
 Regards from
 Tom :)

IMPRODUCT() is suppose to calculate products of complex numbers.
However, its answers are not correct: only the real portion of the
complex numbers seem to be used.
   =IMPRODUCT(2+i2,2-i2)
   = 2*2+2*i2-2*i2-i2*i2
   = 4 +i4 -i4 -(4) [i2*i2=-4]
   = 8
But Calc lists the answer as 4.

Are there any complex functions that really work other than
IMREAL()? (It only reads the real part of a complex number.

I confirm this result with 3.5.4.2, Ubuntu 12.04

According to the help document
http://help.libreoffice.org/scalc/SC_HID_AAI_FUNC_IMPRODUCT?Language=en_USSystem=WINVersion=3.5#bm_id3150661;,
the formula should be IMPRODUCT(2+2j,2-2j)
Thank you.

Re: [libreoffice-users] LO 3.5: Cannot Access Writer Templates

2012-03-26 Thread Michael Wu
Hi Rich,

Please refer to the forum discussion
http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6t=48030
, maybe you need to delete the user directory to fix the problem. But
be sure to save the necessary templates and other setting files before
the deletion. Hope it helps.

Regards

Michael

Well, the mail list manager strips attachments. Both the templates and

[libreoffice-users] LibreOffice 3.5.1 for Windows is failed to play the slide show of the pps files normally.

2012-03-20 Thread Michael Wu
Dear all,

After I upgrade LibreOffice for windows from 3.5.0 to 3.5.1, I have
found that the Impress cannot play the slide show of the pps files
normally. The windows platform is XP +SP3. However, if we use
LibreOffice for Linux on Fedora 15, there is no problem to play the
slide show of the pps files. Please help to check if there is anything
that we can do to fix the problem.

Thank you for your assistance.

Michael
