unfortunately, that doesn't work. Option-f gives me an italic f:-(

under windows, you press alt key, and each menu item gets one character
underlined. alt + that character is the proper shortcut, e.g. alt+f for 'file',
alt+e for 'edit', alt+o for 'f_o_rmat' etc. would it work on mac if you
substitute option for alt?

there are no shortcuts for insert mark

ctrl+shift+enter to insert column break,
ctrl+enter to insert manual page break,
shift+enter to insert manual line break.

shortcuts are adjustable through tools/customize/keyboard. just pick a key
combination from the list of shortcut keys, find the function to assign under
appropriate category and click 'modify'. you can load/save your shortcut
collections.

Needed: more keyboard shortcuts! (Writer at least) - Mac OSX

2013-09-29 Thread Julian Thomas
Not only is there no keyboard shortcut to the menubar categories [File, Edit,
View, Insert…] but there are no shortcuts for insert mark - and the insert menu
item doesn't have a -> to open a secondary menu for insert.

I find I need line breaks and column breaks regularly in some of the stuff I'm
writing. It's a PITA to have to use 4 (count them, 4) mouse clicks. The OK
button (once you have selected the type of mark) isn't even responsive to the
enter key:-(

tnx
