It does, and thanks for the report!

Can you please share all of your setup logs (/var/log/ovirt-engine/setup/*)?

Thanks!

More details:

This function should not normally be included in a 4.2 backup, and I do
not yet understand why you get this error.

If it's a clean 4.2 setup, it should never have been defined.
Earlier versions did create it, and the upgrade process should have
dropped it, if it's an upgraded setup. See also:

Sumit,

You may need to enable the other repos which have the dependency packages.

Check the repo config files.

You can use the REST API [1] via any REST client or the
python-ovirt-engine-sdk4 [2] to manually or programmaticaly perform any
task that can be done via the webadmin UI.
About the UI malfunction I don't have enough information to reply. I will
need to have to try to reproduce it. You can open a bug on [3] to track it.
Please provide a detailed description
of the shortest flow to reproduce the malfunction and attach any relevant
logs.

Thanks a lot

[ovirt-users] Port 9090 Redirect Nginx Proxy

2018-12-17 Thread dcsteve24
I've run into a small issue I'm looking to resolve. I currently have 5 hosts
I'm working to configure as oVirt Hosts and a single oVirt Manager to manage
them all. The oVirt Manager can talk to the hosts, the hosts show up, they can
be managed, etc.

Our client PCs reside on a different network (and this can't be changed). We
used to just add the interfaces to communicate on the new network but because
of IP spaces and DFARS/NIST requirements, we are moving away from this. I've
set up a reverse proxy so only a single machine serves as the gateway between
the networks. This works for everything except one small issue. If you click
"Host Console" from the ovirt manager, it opens up a new page with port 9090 to
the cockpit page of the host.

I have this working except I am getting a blank page for cockpit after logging
in. What's even more odd, I can use the reverse proxy settings to browse to the
443 port and redirect to 9090 and i can load everything fine, but 9090 to 9090
does not work. I've looked at other threads and posts, including the GitLab
thing, which got me here, but can't get this last missing piece. Is anybody
able to provide any assistance? Based off research it looks like something I
could edit in the cockpit.conf file, except ovirt apparently doesn't make the
cockpit.conf file... and trying to force it through the GUI by adding /settings
to the URL says page not found.

Alternatively I could edit the oVirt Mgr to point to client to the 443 port and
that'd work, if I knew where to edit those hyperlinks upon click.

P.S. this is a test/develop internal network env which is why i have
proxy_ssl_verify off.

Thanks Sandro for your reply.
As, you suggested, I disabled the epl repo, you can see below,

But though I am getting error like below,

[ovirt-users] Re: Ovirt Engine UI bug- cannot attache networks to hosts

2018-12-17 Thread Leo David
Hello Everyone,
Any updates on this fix ?
Also, is thee any other way that I can attach hosts to gluster network
other than from within engine UI ?
I'm just standing with a ready installed 6 nodes cluster, and I would
rather prefer to not start using gluster by passing traffic through default
ovirtmgmt network

Thank you very much !

Leo

[ovirt-users] Disk corruption on hosted engine

2018-12-17 Thread Callum Smith
Dear All,

So we've had some major disk corruption on our hosted engine (hardware to
blame), and we have taken backups. However, the hosted-engine VM will no longer
boot at all, database is thoroughly corrupted, and we need to rebuild the
thing. Just a sanity check on the best route:

Preamble:
VMs are still running fine - only hosted engine affected
VMs are distributed across our entire 3 node cluster
All 3 nodes are registered as hosted engine candidates

1. Do another hosted-engine --deploy on one of the existing hosts, and then
restore the backup into that
2. Build a new host, deploy the hosted-engine, then restore a backup on a fresh
node

Regards,
Callum

This is an internal error report that should normally not happen. It
means the ovirt-ha-agent asked for a storage operation before it

like a race condition.

I'm seeing this events also on my setup randomly and seldom.

I would recommend opening a bug report with all the logs we talked about
and all the RPM versions (ovirt-hosted-engine-ha and
ovirt-hosted-engine-setup packages). Use this link to go directly to the
right component:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/enter_bug.cgi?product=ovirt-hosted-engine-ha

Are anybody open this bug report ? I do not have account in RH bugzilla..

(Accidentally this (9 dec) log file is rotated while i wrote this email...)

2018-12-17 Thread Torsten Stolpmann
I experienced the same issue while restoring a full backup (engine &
dwh) on a clean machine. Both machines are running CentOS 7.6 and

oVirt 4.2.7.

The issue went away when adding the following line to the IGNORED_ERRORS
list starting at 1944 in engine-backup:

must be owner of function uuid_generate_v1

Hope this helps,

Torsten

Please disable epel repository.
I'm investigating on why collectd 5.8.1 is not getting published in centos,
discussion ongoing here:
https://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-devel/2018-December/017147.html
EPEL repository ships packages that may collide with those shipped in
CentOS and oVirt so if you need EPEL, please filter only the packages you
need by adding includepkgs directive in EPEL repo config file.

[ovirt-users] GlusterFS Storage - Size limited at 2 GB

2018-12-17 Thread v . levet
Hello everyone,

I've installed oVirt on 8 nodes of a MacroServer (SuperMicro Microcloud): 7
Nodes with oVirt Node installed and 1 Node with Centos 7 and oVirt installed.
The last one works like hypervisor and node.

I would use all the storage of all nodes like a Gluster storage, so I've
created a new DataCenter, with a Cluster with all nodes inside. Then I've
created the volume Gluster (by GUI): Replicated Duplicated version and 4
replicas on all 8 nodes. Than "Optimize for oVirt Storage".
For last I've created Domain storage based on volume created before.
All works fine but the total storage that is available from Domain is 1.9 GB.
I've tried already to force it using these commands:

gluster volume GlusterVol limit-usage / 3200GB
gluster volume quota GlusterVol limit-usage /data 3200GB

At first it seems work but finally when I was installing a VM, I get Full
Storage. It seems that it could use only the storage of the node where is
instantiated the volume.

I would see all the storage distributed and I wish I could use the storage from
all nodes.

Someone could help me?
