Hi,

Could you please check if you are not hit by the new postgresql-jdbc
package issue?

Thanks,

[ovirt-users] Re: Windows VMs randomly wont boot after compatibility change

2022-04-22 Thread Erez Zarum
Hey,
This only happens to Windows VMs mostly, when you update the cluster
compatibility level it should alert you on VMs that might have this issues
and let you know before you resume the upgrade.

[ovirt-users] Re: Windows VMs randomly wont boot after compatibility change

2022-04-22 Thread David Sekne
Hello,

I followed the documentation on updating the compatibility version. We had
no issues with NIC's, all VMs just needed a reboot. No other issues were
displayed for VM's after the reboot (we have around 400 VMs) so not sure
which changes we would need to do on VM's themselves?

I will try to change the emulated machine for Windows VMs to see if it
helps (other OS's have no issues).

Thank you for the help.

Regards,
David

[ovirt-users] [IMPORTANT] Upgrade to postgresql-jdbc-42.2.14-1 breaks oVirt Engine 4.4/4.5

2022-04-22 Thread Martin Perina
Hi,
Unfortunately we have just found that latest release of
postgresql-jdbc-42.2.14-1 breaks existing oVirt Engine 4.4 and 4.5
installations running on CentOS Stream.
The workaround is to downgrade to previous version, for example
postgresql-jdbc-42.2.3-3 should work fine.

Here are detailed instructions:

1. If you have already upgraded to postgresql-jdbc-42.2.14-1, please
downgrade to previous version:

$ dnf downgrade postgresql-jdbc
$ systemctl restart ovirt-engine

2. If you are going to upgrade your oVirt Engine machine, please exclude
postgresql-jdbc package from upgrades:

$ dnf update -x postgresql-jdbc

We have created https://bugzilla.redhat.com/2077794 to track this issue,
but unfortunately we don't have a fix yet.

Regards,
Martin

[ovirt-users] Re: Windows VMs randomly wont boot after compatibility change

2022-04-22 Thread Erez Zarum
Hey,
This is noted in the documents:
https://www.ovirt.org/documentation/upgrade_guide/index.html#Changing_the_Cluster_Compatibility_Version_minor_updates
I recommend if you can't cope with it (i.e: logging to console and
reconfiguring the NICs/Disks) it to change the VM custom emulated machine
to "pc-q35-rhel8.1.0", this is the default emulated machine when cluster
compatibility level is set to 4.4.
Also note, if you heavily rely on VNC, there's a bug introduced in libvirt
8 that won't allow to set password length longer than 8 chars, oVirt by
default tries to set a password length of 12 chars but up until now libvirt
simply ignored that and set the password based on the first 8 chars, i
don't know from which version that happened but in 4.4.10 you won't be able
to use VNC so i recommend to use SPICE (which is actually much better).

could be, but it would help to include more logs.
feel free to open one and add full engine.log and describe the hostory of that

[ovirt-users] ovirt 4.5.0 - template Issue

2022-04-22 Thread Winfried de Heiden

Hi all,

For some reason, I am not able to create or import tempates. Creating a
template from an existing VM (using the UI) will result in the ui.log:

(default task-13) [] Uncaught exception:
com.google.gwt.core.client.JavaScriptException: (TypeError) : Cannot
read properties of undefined (reading 'a')

Trying to import a template will result in ui.log:

2022-04-22 12:17:02,383+02 ERROR
[org.ovirt.engine.ui.frontend.server.gwt.OvirtRemoteLoggingService]

New bug? Anyone?

Winfried

I assume you are on Oracle Linux for hosts as well, not using oVirt Node,
right?
In such case, you need Oracle Linux 8.6 Beta as a first step.
I never used Oracle Linux but I guess it means enabling this beta repo
https://yum.oracle.com/repo/OracleLinux/OL8/beta/x86_64/
Perhaps @Simon Coter , @Marcos Sungaila
or someone else from Oracle can assist you
with this.
Then, you'll need to follow https://ovirt.org/download/install_on_rhel.html
for adding CentOS Stream extras repositories before trying to install
centos-release-ovirt45.
Perhaps you or someone else using Oracle Linux can help updating
https://ovirt.org/download/install_on_rhel.html for the Oracle Linux case
once you succeed installing there?

[ovirt-users] Re: new host addition to OVN cluster fails with Connectivity check failed, rolling back

2022-04-22 Thread Sandro Bonazzola
Hi Ravi, I'm sorry to repeat myself but oVirt 4.3 went EOL 2 years ago and
now even 4.4 went EOL 2 days ago.
As a project we don't consider reports against 4.3 anymore.
Please upgrade as soon as practical and if it still reproduces please let
us know and we'll be happy to help getting it fixed.
You can try contacting Oracle or Red Hat support as they still provide help
for 4.3 (well, for Red Hat Virtualization 4.3 Maintenance support ends in 4
months too...,
couldn't find any public statement for OLVM on Oracle website).
