---

There is no option on bios to activate offloading, and i had it working
on vmware esxi.

Anyway, i think i found the solution, the mac address of my eth3 nic is
1c:c1:de:7b:71:32, so from what i read it seems that that corresponding
iscsi device mac address is 1c:c1:de:7b:71:33, so adding the mac addres
and ip to /var/lib/iscsi/ifaces/eth3 and change from tcp to bnx2i and then

remove and re add it in "iSCSI Mutipathing" tab works

iface.hwaddress = 1c:c1:de:7b:71:33
iface.ipaddress = 192.168.12.125
iface.transport_name = bnx2i

I see that already exists a
/var/lib/iscsi/ifaces/bnx2i.1c:c1:de:7b:71:33, so if i create
/etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-bnx2i.1c:c1:de:7b:71:33 i should be
able to add it in Ovirt GUI to a logical network and then use it in
"iSCSI Mutipathing" tab? I'm going to try this...

Best regards,
Ricardo Esteves.

Hi Ricardo, can you paste the output of:

  # ethtool -i eth3

2014-10-07 Thread Ricardo Esteves

Hi Federico,

I've upgrade to 3.4 and bindded the network to the iscsi connection
on "iSCSI Multipathing" tab, but for what i see it added two new
connections to my targets 192.168.12.1 and 192.168.12.4 (the ones i
choosed) but they are still using tcp (sofware iscsi ) instead of
bnx2i

iscsiadm -m session
tcp: [1] 192.168.11.1:3260,1
iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60
tcp: [2] 192.168.12.2:3260,3
iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60
tcp: [3] 192.168.12.4:3260,4
iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60
tcp: [4] 192.168.11.3:3260,2
iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60
tcp: [5] 192.168.12.2:3260,3
  iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60
tcp: [6] 192.168.12.4:3260,4
  iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60

I see that when i bindded the network in iscsi multipathing it
creates my interface eth3 in /var/lib/iscsi/ifaces but with
transport_name=tcp :

cat /var/lib/iscsi/ifaces/eth3
# BEGIN RECORD 6.2.0-873.10.el6
iface.iscsi_ifacename = eth3
iface.transport_name = tcp
iface.vlan_id = 0
iface.vlan_priority = 0
iface.iface_num = 0
iface.mtu = 0
iface.port = 0
# END RECORD

Is there anyway to tell ovirt to use bnx2i instead of tcp?

Best regards,

If selecting the relevant host in "Hosts" you see the bnx2i interface in the
"Network Interfaces" subtab, then you can try to:

Good afternoon,

Sorry, Ovirt 3.2, Fedora 19 VM, but it's ok now, i was not getting sound
on firefox with flash video, but was a codecs problem, it was not a
problem with Ovirt.

I guess ovirt adds automaticaly a sound device, it just doesn't show in
the VM properties :)

Re: [Users] Bonding - VMs Network performance problem

2013-07-30 Thread Ricardo Esteves
Hi Antoni,

The problem is LRO activated on bnx2x driver.

After the reboot the LRO comes activated, after reconfiguring the bond
the LRO is deactivated.

So i created /etc/modprobe.d/bnx2x.conf with: options bnx2x
disable_tpa=1

and everythink is ok now after reboot.

There was a previous bug open for RHEL5 about this problem
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=518531 should i reopen this
for RHEL6?

This problem only happens when bnx2x is used with bonds... should this
be considered as a bug?

Best regards,
Ricardo Esteves.

Hi Ricardo,

Thanks a lot for the extra and very relevant info. Could you please create a
bug in bugzilla so we can better track it?

Best,

Toni

Re: [Users] Bonding - VMs Network performance problem

2013-07-30 Thread Ricardo Esteves
Hi,

Just found the problem / solution.

http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7007658

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=518531

It's the LRO activated on bnx2x driver.

After the reboot the LRO comes activated, after reconfiguring the bond
the LRO is deactivated.

So i created /etc/modprobe.d/bnx2x.conf with: options bnx2x
disable_tpa=1

and everythink is ok now after reboot.

Best regards,
Ricardo Esteves.

I can resolve temporally, unconfiguring the bond and then configure it
again.

But when i reboot the server the problem comes back.

Hi Ricardo,
Are you still experiencing the problem described below?
Are you configuring MTU (to something other than default or 1500) for
one of the networks on the bond?

Thanks, Livnat

[Users] Bonding - VMs Network performance problem

2013-05-24 Thread Ricardo Esteves
Hi,

I've got ovirt installed on 2 HP BL460c G6 blades, and my VMs have very
poor network performance (around 7,01K/s).

On the servers itselfs there is no problem, i can download a file with
wget at around 99 M/s.

Then i go to ovirt network configuration remove the bonding and then
make the bonding again and the problem gets fixed (i have to do this
everytime i reboot my blades).

SERVER' s Software:
CentOS 6.4 (64 bits) - 2.6.32-358.6.2.el6.x86_64
Ovirt EL6 official rpms.

Anyone experienced this kind of problems?

Best regards,
Ricardo Esteves.

On Fedora 17+ you can install the guest agent by 'yum install
ovirt-guest-agent-common'

On other OS you can start by checking out the git repository on the OS
you'd like to build it on.

`git clone http://gerrit.ovirt.org/p/ovirt-guest-agent.git`

On Windows you should follow these instructions:
http://gerrit.ovirt.org/gitweb?p=ovirt-guest-agent.git;a=blob;f=ovirt-guest-agent/README-windows.txt;h=HEAD

On Linux you go into the repository
$ ./autogen.sh
$ ./configure --prefix=/usr --without-sso
And then as root
# make install

However not all files might yet be put into the right places on all
systems, and for Debian/Ubuntu systems we don't have any daemon or
upstart scripts, so far we only support systemd in the repository so
that would have to be done manually.

Re: [Users] oVIrt 3.1 - Xeon E5530 - Wrong cpu identification

2012-08-10 Thread Ricardo Esteves
Ok, i reinstalled the host to try to reproduce the problem.

I blocked again the 8443 on ovirt manager machine.

Configured the ovirt engine options on the host and gave me the error
that couldn't download the certificate.

I run virsh capabilities and worked ok.

Then i rebooted the host and now when i run virsh capabilities it gives
me segfault.

On dmesg i get this message:

virsh -r capabilities runs ok.

Now it's difficult to reproduce the problem, unless i install the host
again.

The problem seemed to be, when i configured the ovirt engine options on
the host it failed to download the certificate because port 8443 was
blocked on ovirt engine machine.

virsh -r capabilites worked ok at that time
but
virsh capabilites crashed with segfault

Please note that vdsm hacks libvirt to use sasl authentication, which
may be related to this crash.

Does anything look better with `virsh -r`?

I didn't disabled anything, but after installing the node when i
configure the option "oVirt Engine" it gives an error saying it can't
download the certificate, but i had this error with previous versions of
the node, and it detected ok the CPU family.

This is the output after a fresh install of the node:

Hi,

pvresize doesn't work, still same size.

How do i disconnect the iscsi session?

Between disconnecting and ovirt connect again, will i loose connection
to my VMs?

Best regards,

1. You should put all hosts except the spm in maintenance.
2. pvresize the LUN on the spm host
3. if other hosts can still 'see' the LUN then you'd need to repeat [2] on
those to refresh the device map on all of them (or disconnect the iSCSI session
and let oVirt reconnect)

There is no filesystem so problem solved :)

[Users] Increase storage domain

2012-07-30 Thread Ricardo Esteves
Hi,

I've increased the LUN i use as iSCSI storage domain on my storage, but
oVirt still sees the LUN with the old size.

How do i refresh the LUN size and how to increase the filesystem of the
storage domain?

Best regards,
Ricardo Esteves.

Re: [Users] Delete Network

2012-07-19 Thread Ricardo Esteves
Hi,

Ok, i tried that, but for some reason the detach is allways grey.

I had 3.0 because i still had a host with 3.0, but is they are all 3.1
so i'm goint to change the cluster to 3.1.

Best regards,
Ricardo Esteves.

Hi Ricardo,

In order to detach a network with vlan tag from the interface, you
should check the checkbox
next to the network name under the vlan column of the network you wish
to detach and to
click on the "detach" button.

Any reason why not to use cluster 3.1 with the advanced UI of the Setup
Networks ?

Regards,
Meni

Re: [Users] oVirt 3.1 - HP BL460c G6 - virtualization hardware is unavailable

2012-06-15 Thread Ricardo Esteves
i've been able to login using the ilo java remote console instead of the
integrated remote console, but very slowly, and doesn't allways works :(

Anyway, regarding the message about hardware virtualization, doesn't
seem a problem, just a message, because the kvm_intel module is loaded:

[root@blade4 ~]# lsmod | grep kvm
kvm_intel 132488  0
kvm   408030  1 kvm_intel

Hi,

I've installed ovirt-node-iso-2.4.0-1.1.fc17.iso today in one of my BL460c
G6 and after the boot
I get the message Virtualization hardware is unavailable, and I can't login,
it seems the keyboard doesn't respond on ilo remote console.

Anyone had this kind of problem?

In attachment the print screen of the login prompt.

Re: [Users] Logical Netowrk - ovirtmgmt

2012-06-15 Thread Ricardo Esteves
Hi,

I was able to make ovirtmgmt "not required" in my cluster, then I added a
logic network of my one with the vlan I wanted.

Thankx anyway.

Best regards,
Ricardo Esteves.

I just looked at this time it doesn't look like you can detach the logical
network to redefine it as a logic network. With that said. I am willing to
bet that if you were to manually define the network before setting up the
engine it would likely work. It also looks like if you went and shutdown
everything edit the networks manually and defined it to a vlan that would
work as well. The key is to have the ovirt shutdown well making the change.

Thanks
Robert

Re: [Users] Network interfaces order

2012-06-14 Thread Ricardo Esteves

This happens on the oVirt node.

I've added the file /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules with the
next lines:

SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*",
ATTR{address}=="d4:85:64:48:42:c0", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*",
NAME="eth0"

SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*",
ATTR{address}=="d4:85:64:48:42:c4", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*",
NAME="eth1"

SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*",
ATTR{address}=="1c:c1:de:7b:71:30", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*",
NAME="eth2"

SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*",
ATTR{address}=="1c:c1:de:7b:71:32", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*",
NAME="eth3"

Made it persistent using the command persist, after the reboot now the
file is still there but the order of the nics still changes :(

Where does this happen? On oVirt Node or somewhere else?

If it's Node then the appropriate file has to be persisted to survive a
reboot. (persist MYFILE)
