Anyway, i think i found the solution, the mac address of my eth3 nic is 1c:c1:de:7b:71:32, so from what i read it seems that that corresponding iscsi device mac address is 1c:c1:de:7b:71:33, so adding the mac addres and ip to /var/lib/iscsi/ifaces/eth3 and change from tcp to bnx2i and then remove and re add it in "iSCSI Mutipathing" tab works iface.hwaddress = 1c:c1:de:7b:71:33 iface.ipaddress = 192.168.12.125 iface.transport_name = bnx2i I see that already exists a /var/lib/iscsi/ifaces/bnx2i.1c:c1:de:7b:71:33, so if i create /etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-bnx2i.1c:c1:de:7b:71:33 i should be able to add it in Ovirt GUI to a logical network and then use it in "iSCSI Mutipathing" tab? I'm going to try this... Best regards, Ricardo Esteves. Hi Federico, I've upgrade to 3.4 and bindded the network to the iscsi connection on "iSCSI Multipathing" tab, but for what i see it added two new connections to my targets 192.168.12.1 and 192.168.12.4 (the ones i choosed) but they are still using tcp (sofware iscsi ) instead of bnx2i iscsiadm -m session tcp: [1] 192.168.11.1:3260,1 iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60 tcp: [2] 192.168.12.2:3260,3 iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60 tcp: [3] 192.168.12.4:3260,4 iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60 tcp: [4] 192.168.11.3:3260,2 iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60 tcp: [5] 192.168.12.2:3260,3 iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60 tcp: [6] 192.168.12.4:3260,4 iqn.1986-03.com.hp:storage.msa2324i.1226151a60 I see that when i bindded the network in iscsi multipathing it creates my interface eth3 in /var/lib/iscsi/ifaces but with transport_name=tcp : cat /var/lib/iscsi/ifaces/eth3 # BEGIN RECORD 6.2.0-873.10.el6 iface.iscsi_ifacename = eth3 iface.transport_name = tcp iface.vlan_id = 0 iface.vlan_priority = 0 iface.iface_num = 0 iface.mtu = 0 iface.port = 0 # END RECORD Is there anyway to tell ovirt to use bnx2i instead of tcp? Re: [Users] Bonding - VMs Network performance problem
Hi Antoni, The problem is LRO activated on bnx2x driver. After the reboot the LRO comes activated, after reconfiguring the bond the LRO is deactivated. So i created /etc/modprobe.d/bnx2x.conf with: options bnx2x disable_tpa=1 and everythink is ok now after reboot. There was a previous bug open for RHEL5 about this problem https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=518531 should i reopen this for RHEL6? This problem only happens when bnx2x is used with bonds... should this be considered as a bug? Hi, Just found the problem / solution. http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7007658 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=518531 It's the LRO activated on bnx2x driver. So i created /etc/modprobe.d/bnx2x.conf with: options bnx2x disable_tpa=1 and everythink is ok now after reboot. [Users] Bonding - VMs Network performance problem
Hi, I've got ovirt installed on 2 HP BL460c G6 blades, and my VMs have very poor network performance (around 7,01K/s). On the servers itselfs there is no problem, i can download a file with wget at around 99 M/s. Then i go to ovirt network configuration remove the bonding and then make the bonding again and the problem gets fixed (i have to do this everytime i reboot my blades). SERVER' s Software: CentOS 6.4 (64 bits) - 2.6.32-358.6.2.el6.x86_64 Ovirt EL6 official rpms. Anyone experienced this kind of problems? Re: [Users] Network interfaces order
This happens on the oVirt node. I've added the file /etc/udev/rules.d/70-persistent-net.rules with the next lines: SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="d4:85:64:48:42:c0", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth0" SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="d4:85:64:48:42:c4", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth1" SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="1c:c1:de:7b:71:30", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth2" SUBSYSTEM=="net", ACTION=="add", DRIVERS=="?*", ATTR{address}=="1c:c1:de:7b:71:32", ATTR{type}=="1", KERNEL=="eth*", NAME="eth3" Made it persistent using the command persist, after the reboot now the file is still there but the order of the nics still changes :( -Original Message- From: Fabian Deutsch To: Ricardo Esteves Cc: users@ovirt.org Subject: Re: [Users] Network interfaces order Date: Thu, 14 Jun 2012 11:56:38 +0200 Hi, Am Donnerstag, den 14.06.2012, 10:53 +0100 schrieb Ricardo Esteves: > Every time i reboot my servers, my network interfaces change order and > i have to apply network configuration again. If it's Node then the appropriate file has to be persisted to survive a reboot. I added a udev rule but when I reboot it disappears. Best regards, Ricardo Esteves. ___ Users mailing list Users@ovirt.org http://lists.ovirt.org/mailman/listinfo/users
