Questions
Hi, I have a couple of questions that I cannot find answers to in the FAQ. Firstly, I have downloaded, installed, and updated rules_du_jour. Do I need to do anything to actually tell spamassassin to use these new rules, or does it just use any new rules dropped in the relevant folder? Also, I use amavisd to check mail for spam. When I run spamc on a test email, I get nice output telling me what tests were run, and what each scored. Is there any way I can turn on this output by default so it appears in my mailllog? I know it will lead to massive logs, but that aside, it would be useful. I have tried adding -D to the spamd commandline in init.d and /etc/sysconfig/spamassassin (using fedora Core 4) but it seems to ignore it. Regards, Tony
Picture based spam
Hi, I have setup SA 3.1 under FC4, which is working quite well. However, one type of message that still gets through is a series of mails that are made up of no text other than a varying subject, then a picture, which is black text on white, which looks exactly like an ordinary email. Obviously SA can't read the message since it is an image, but is there a way to make a rule that blocks a mail where there is an image only, no text? Regards, Tony
Score Info (was RE: error in counting score?)
Just on this point, when I set up amavisd and spamassassin on a test RH9 server, U used to get the score info, e.g no_real_name=.5, blah_blah_blah=2. On a new fedora core 4 system, SA 3.10, I don't get this info. Is there a flag I can set to get it? Spamassassin Distro
Hi, I am looking at setting up a new linux box dedicated to spamassassin via amavisd. I am wondering what the best distro is to do this on, is there a particular distro you guys can recommend? I am not looking for an out-of-the-box solution, but one that spam cleaning is almost native to! Regards,Tony
