[Veritas-bu] tracing tape drive waiting for resource
Hi, My tape drives are shared by SSO between all the media servers. I use NBU 6.0 and 6.5 Some of jobs someone take a long time to start backing up because thay are waiting for tape drive resources. Clicking on the job by the Java interface show the waiting for resource message. All the tape drives are busy by the other media servers. Does anyone know in which log files can we trace the waiting for resource for a tape drive availability, without using the java interface to check how many times this problem can occur ?? It is to verify the frequency of this resource problem Thanks for your help Gilles. -Message d'origine- De : veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu [mailto:veritas-bu-boun...@mailman.eng.auburn.edu]de la part de Collins, Glen (HQP) Envoyé : vendredi 30 mars 2007 17:40 À : Martin, Jonathan (Contractor); Wolters, Keith; veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu Objet : Re: [Veritas-bu] Upgrading a 6.0 master server This might be of some use for you. It is recommended to have all NetBackup (NB) master, media, client, and database extensions on the same release and at the same patch level. In larger environments it is not possible to update all servers and clients simultaneously. With versions of NetBackup preceding 4.5, it was required that all master and media servers be at the same patch level. Beginning with NetBackup DataCenter 4.5, there has been some support for running mixed patch level versions of 4.5. These same rules have been carried forward to NetBackup 5.1. This type of support enables NetBackup servers to run a mixture of NetBackup major releases and patches in the same environment. This philosophy gives rise to a number of general multi-version co-existence rules, together with some version-specific rules. Then, I want to be able to backup the folders skeleton ( all folders and subfolders ) but without backing up their respective contents except one specific subfolder /local/DATA/FTS/*/.Admin where I want to backup all its contents. Include lists override exclude lists. So your policy would have / in the backup selection, select cross mount points, and then create an exclude_list file on the client with / in it, and an include_list file with the specific folders that you want backed up. This should be straightforward. .../Ed Ed Wilts, RHCE, BCFP, BCSD, SCSP, SCSE [EMAIL PROTECTED] This mail has originated outside your organization, either from an external partner or the Global Internet. Re: [Veritas-bu] Win2k3 64 bit clients - NBU 6.0 MP4
Yes it works, First install 6.0 MP2 for x64 bits clients , then install patch 6.0 MP4 for x64 bits clients If you want to use the x64 machine as a media server and if you are in a ACSLS library control environment, you need ACSLS libattach 1.4.2 which is available since July and for libattach 1.4.2 to be supported, you need 6.0 MP5 which will be available very soon. I didn't still tested, but that is Symantec told me.
