[Veritas-bu] Using Datalink for NetBackup Support
We use Datalink for our NetBackup support and I can't recall a case that I've filed with them that I wasn't completely satisfied with their support. They're very knowledgeable about the product, and quite a few have experience outside of just NetBackup (unix, switches, data domain, etc). For the record we have several environments using NetBackup with Solaris and Windows both. We also utilize NDMP, Data Domain Restorers with VTL configurations (about to implement replication), NetApp filers, LTO2 and 3 libraries (Quantum and Storagetek), and Cisco and Brocade SAN switches. I've been able to rely on Datalink to help with all of our environments and appliances at one point or another, and they've always been able to deliver. I highly recommend them for support. -ray +-- |This was sent by [EMAIL PROTECTED] via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to [EMAIL PROTECTED] +-- ___ Veritas-bu maillist - Veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu http://mailman.eng.auburn.edu/mailman/listinfo/veritas-bu
[Veritas-bu] Using Datalink for NetBackup Support
Our environment uses Datalink for support on Netbackup, our Protectier VTL and our STK L700 tape library. For the most part support is like that with any other 3rd party vendor. Sometimes you get a good technician and sometimes you get a bad one. I should also note though that some of the technicians that work for Datalink support use to work at Symantec in Netbackup support. If you get one of them you are lucky since they really know what they are talking about. How do I know this? I use to work at Symantec in Netbackup support as well. +-- |This was sent by [EMAIL PROTECTED] via Backup Central. |Forward SPAM to [EMAIL PROTECTED] +-- ___ Veritas-bu maillist - Veritas-bu@mailman.eng.auburn.edu http://mailman.eng.auburn.edu/mailman/listinfo/veritas-bu
Re: [Veritas-bu] Using Datalink for NetBackup Support
We use Datalink and I've been pleased with them. They are the initial line of support, and if they can't solve the problem, they'll open a call with Symmantec. My experience is that they'll respond a little faster when you open a call online through their support website. We haven't had any priority one calls, so I can't comment on immediate help...
