I played around with this a little more and I see what you mean about the unknown album etc. I tried this on my iPhone with an mp3 I created from youtube and this is what happened. The song showed up under recently added, but when I double tap the song title it didn't start playing. Instead, it took me to another screen where it said unknown album. There was also a play button on this screen and when I tapped that button my song began to play. It worked like this with several mp3s so hopefully it will work for you too. So I have a question, I noticed when I played around a little bit more it says something about available off-line in this iPhone and it says dimmed. Also when it shows how many minutes this song is or the file is it says for instance five minutes dimmed. Is there anything I can do to make it online or something? I hope that makes sense. There is an option somewhere in the music app that says show all music or show only music on this iPhone. My phone is set to show only music that resides on the phone, so Idon't know what it will do if you play with that setting. Ha I got it, I wasn't adding it to the automatically add to iTunes library correctly. I thought I had to actually open iTunes and do it that way but it doesn't work that way, I found out that I had to go into windows explorer and then find the iTunes automatically add to the library and copy and paste that way. Thanks for all the help. Operator ignorance. That's a good thing though because that’s how we learn though it does or can and did get frustrating. Hello there I just check that out and yes they do play on iTunes that is weird. But they won't play on my iPhone. It shows that everything is there. But it will not play it just says unknown album but it says the name of the album. But it won't play. Weird! What exactly is happening when you try putting mp3 files on your iPhone? Are they not there? Will they not play? How are you trying to get the files into the correct folder in iTunes? Are they not there? Will they not play? How are you trying to get the files into the correct folder in iTunes? Maybe I can help with a little more information. > On 12/1/15, leliastr...@gmail.com wrote: > Hello there, my situation is this, I am not able to sync MP3 files > to > my > iPhone. Re: ITunes, MP3 files, and syncing to an iPhone 5S.
I'm curious about these ringtones that you say show up on your phone and in iTunes but that only play in iTunes. Go into your clock app and set up a timer event for a minute and see what tones are available to play at the end of the event. Are the new ones recently transferred that you've been posting about included in the list of tones from which to choose? If so, does a sample of them play during this process? Do the tones provided by apple with your device present and play during this timer event setup process? I've found that setting up a quick timer event is the easiest way to test available tones and I'm curious what you see when you try this.
