RE: Phone Randomly Playing Music
Hi Brandon, I had this issue once and it started on a long flight back from Hong Kong to Vancouver. Many times when I stopped my Audible book with the headset remote, it would suddenly start playing again or vice versa. I finally realized that the headset was at fault. It was a rather old set of Apple Earpods and the wires must have come into contact at times creating the signal to start playing. When I arrived in Vancouver I stopped by an Apple Store and got a replacement headset which you can get for free if you have Apple Care. After that my problem was fixed. The only other scenario I can think of would be if you have a bluetooth keyboard which is turned on in your backpack and maybe keys are getting pressed by accident. The Apple Wireless keyboard is sort of notorious for that since it doesn’t have a mechanical on/off switch, just a button which gets easily pushed. It is the main reason why I got rid of it in favour of a Logitech K811. Regards, Sieghard From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Brandon A. I have a set of earphones with a built-in microphone and which has the iTunes controls, where if you squeeze the mic part of the earphone cord it plays or pauses music. Anyway when I have the earphones plugged in, the phone will randomly play music without me touching anything. Also sometimes siri will get enabled and I’ll hear the double beep that indicates it is listening. Again this is all without me touching anything. Why could this be happening? It is incredibly inconvenient. I like using earphones a lot so no one else hears what I am doing and I can have privacy. --- Peace, Brandon Awaken To Silence http://www.awakentosilence.org : Awaken To The Silence That Has Always Been Within You Facebook: AwakenToSilence https://www.facebook.com/awakentosilence Twitter: @awakentosilence https://twitter.com/awakentosilence Tumblr: awakentosilence.tumblr.com http://awakentosilence.tumblr.com -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. This happens to me too - even without earphones plugged in, and sometimes even when the phone is turned off with respect to Siri listening. And sometimes Tune-In Radio comes on unbidden, as well. And yes, this is very annoying. Are there any fixes? Thanks. Penny Sent from my iPhone On Jan 30, 2015, at 11:21 PM, Brandon A.
