RE: Is there a vibrating clock for the iPhone?
Just a few additions to Wayne's post. As he explained, sometimes the watch does talk even though it is not supposed to and hopefully this is less often the case on newer watches, on my series 2 it happens a fair bit the first time I either double or triple tap the screen. I am not sure which vibration method others prefer, I prefer the one where it vibrates the hours, then there is a pause and it vibrates the minutes. Right now it is 8:27 AM and just now it worked perfectly when I double tapped. The watch vibrated 8 times, then a pause and for the minutes it vibrates once long for each 10 minutes and then short so after the 8 vibrations for 8 o'clock and the pause I had two long vibrations and 7 short to indicate 27 minutes. At 10 AM the watch will vibrate only once long just as with minutes, e.g. if it were 10:02 AM it would vibrate once long to indicate 10 AM and then twice short. If it were 12:11 PM the watch would vibrate once long for 10 AM, then twice short to indicate another 2 hours, i.e. 12 PM, then a pause and then once long and once short for 11 minutes. I guess they have chosen 10 AM to make it consistent with the minutes, for me it would make more sense if hours were indicate with a long vibration every 6 hours since to me this would make more sense given the day has 24 hours. 6 AM would be one long vibration, then one long and up to 5 short until 11 AM, at Noon it would go to two long and so on. If you already know what hour it is you can triple tap and you know that the vibrations indicate minutes only. I wish there were an app to do the same on the phone, or this function would be migrated to the iPhone, like Apple has done for other VoiceOver and mainstream features in iOS. Sometimes when I double or triple tap, the watch misunderstands my request and speaks something, but I just turn my wrist so the top or crown of the watch is pointing down, and turn it back facing up and try again. Having the time vibrated is one of my favorite uses of the Apple Watch. RE: Is there a vibrating clock for the iPhone?
As far as I know only the Apple Watch can provide the time via a system of vibrations. You can choose between something like what you describe or Morse code and one other method. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com On Behalf Of Gerardo Corripio Sent: Thursday, May 23, 2019 5:41 PM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Is there a vibrating clock for the iPhone?
