Re: Some more braille display questions with an iPhone or iPad
Pressing a cursor routing button in a text field should move the insertion point to the position of the cursor routing button. So if you press it on cell 1, the insertion point should move to the beginning and so on. I'm not aware of the ability to send mail directly using a Braille display. How do you do that with a braille display? I tried double tapping a cursor routing key, but was not moved where I thought I should've been, i.e. back to the start of the message text area. Also, with a Bluetooth keyboard when in mail, there is a command that lets you directly send a message without having to tab all the way back to the send button. That has been ported over from the Mac. Is there such a command for braille? Obviously, since I have a choice to use the touchscreen or a braille device, if I find it more ef ficient to use the screen, I can. But for those folks who don't have very good hearing, or who may find themselves in places where speech is not the ideal thing, it would seem like having some commands to make operations more efficient, where you don't have to tab, tab, tab, would be a good thing. Whenever you touch the screen and you have a Braille display connected, what you're touching is shown on the display. So, you can touch with one hand and read with the other. Re: Some more braille display questions with an iPhone or iPad
I have to agree, that when I pressed the cursor routing button and expected the cursor to move to the start where the routing button was, it didn't. This was in the email app. Also, touching the screen does not always make the braille display focus move. I don't know why. Maybe this is new or not. When I am in mail, I just press space with 3-6 to get back to the beginning of text That usually works fine. To send, just press spce with 1-2-3, then go forward twice, and you'll be fine.
