RE: calendar and do not disturb

2012-09-21 Thread Ron Pelletier
Hi Damashe,

Thanks for the info. I did try that this morning and it worked. That
removes all birthdays and brings me back to the calendar I had but without
birthdays. What I am trying to get is the birthdays included but not from
September 2011. Only the ones from now on.

Hi all,
I didn't enable facebook calendar sync, but I have a suggestion that may
work. Once opening the calendar app, tap the calendars button. This should
place youin a screen where you can select which calendars you want to appear
in your calendar view. Double tapping a calendar name will deselect it if it
is selected, and select it if it isn't currently selected. Try deselecting
the facebook calendar and tapping done. This may help with the issue.
BTW, not having a calendar visible will not affect alerts for any events
associated with that calendar, you should still get those notifications. It
may be necissary to remove calendar from the app switcher then open it again
to see if the problem was resolved.
I am only making a suggestion as I don't know for sure that this will work.
I hope it helps though

RE: calendar and do not disturb

2012-09-21 Thread Andrew Head
Hi Niel,
Thanks for your reply. I did and sure enough got to 2012, but can I get it
to stay there and follow the real date? Also, I was told I would get an
alert when it was someone's birthday. But nothing's come through. Do these
alerts come at midnight? Is there somewhere you can turn these on or off?

RE: calendar and do not disturb

2012-09-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi Andrew,

I would also Google this Facebook stuff, e.g. "Syncing Facebook with iOS" or
something like that. I read about some cases where people synced their
Facebook addressbook and it added everybody's @Facebook.com email address
and also that when syncing Calendars people ended up with birthdays from all
the Calendars from all their friends, I mean birthdays of all their friends
and so on. I wouldn't touch that one with a 10 foot pole, well, but then I'm
highly suspicious of Facebook as it is and stay away from it as much as I
can. At least Apple does allow you to control this fairly well from what I
read in one of the Maccessibility reviews which is I think also where I read
about these issues. I think anybody who enables the Facebook integration
better find out first about these potential problems, don't just turn stuff
on or allow something if you are not sure

Regards,

Sieghard

of times but even though I am back in 2012, those dates still come up. Any
idea what's going on?

Also with do not disturb, I found a toggle in settings, but that just turned
it off and on. I know you can set which certain notifications come in such
as calls from a specific number, but can't find where that is.

Any help is appreciated. I am from Australia and am using an iphone 4
