Re: question about giving feedback on ILike2Read

2012-05-05 Thread Matthew Campbell
Hi.
Another limitation with the app is that you can't do a text search. Say you
want to search a book chapter by chapter. What every other text reading program
does whether on a PC or Mac, is let you type in a string of text such as
chapter and then you can search for next or previous instances of that string
of text.
I too would like some contact info for the developer.
Thanks for any assistance.

as I just bought it, and have found a limitation which I think really needs
addressing if you plan to use it as a serious book reading app.
It looks like that when you copy books over into the documents folder, you
can't copy over separate folders containing books and then access them from
 within the app.
The app is only capable of accessing files stored in the documents folder,
meaning you can't easily organise your collection into categories or
subjects, you are forced to have your books in one place in the documents
 folder not in sub folders.
What I would like would be for the app to have the ability to access sub
folders under the documents folder, and for you to be able to access them
from the documents list in the app, so it would show you a list of your
folders, which you could tap, and then be shown the files in those folders.
I guess similar to collections in iBooks, accept iBooks doesn't really store
your books in folders you can access easily outside the app.
Having said that, I am glad to see ILike2Read doesn't use a fancy database to
store its content like iBooks, that will make managing files in the app so
 much easier.
I did go to the support link in the app entry on the app store, but I was
taken to a page I think in italian, I found the contact link, but it has
several e mail addresses and phone numbers and I have no idea which one to
 use.
 Many thanks for any help,
 Alex.

Generally, if you go to the app store and search for an application, the
developer will be shown in the description.

re: question about giving feedback on ILike2Read

2012-05-05 Thread alex wallis

Hi Eric,
I know that, as I have contacted several authors in the past.
However, when you try to use the support link in the app description you
are taken to this itallian page where all the contact details are also
in itallian, and several different people are listed.
Also, the author isn't listed as a person for this app, but as some sort
of institution.
I wonder if this app was someones university project hence the name of
the institution.

I wrote the developer and got a response back. One of the email
addresses there is the support one and I wrote it in English and it was
all good.

Re: question about giving feedback on ILike2Read

2012-05-05 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hi, I used the address i...@mdvbologna.it and I mentioned the suggestion
for folder support so you can better categorize files. My example is
that I import text files via a zip file which I ipen from Filer. This
works fine unless the zip file contains subfolders. Since iLikeToRead
doesn't support foldered structures, the files don't get imported. I
also suggested adding a password feature to open the app in case you
store sensitive files such as personal things, like passwords and the like.
