Re: Any suggestions?

2004-06-02 Thread Alex Novakovic

Hi Brad - this is hour lucky day! :) I use Eudora & I just happen to be in it

Hello all,

I am wondering if there is any way to print the list of e-mails I
have received using Eudora. I don't need content - just the name of
sender, date and subject line.

Does any body have a clue how to do?

I looked at it and the only way I can see how to do it is to open any
mail box, select all, copy and paste into a spreadsheet or word
processor. Have to do it mailbox by mailbox as far as I can see if
you want all mailbox emails.

By the way, I must say that the WAMUG mailing list members are
really great the way they help each other. In this day and age it is
nice to find people being...um..well..nice.

cheers,
Brad

Re: 10.3.4 Bug on iBook

2004-06-02 Thread Richard Kay

Hhhm something seems to be happening to a subset of G4 iBooks.

Here is the link to the current discussion in the Apple forums for
those who are interested:

http://discussions.info.apple.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]@.6893e46d

I've just hosed my drive and reinstalled 10.3.3 (7G51).

Lo and behold ... problem gone.

Oh ... it was the OS X inbuilt screen saver by the way.

I might wait for 'Tiger'. ;-)

Thanks for checking at your end.

Doesn't happen here. G4/400 desktop with Apple Studio Display.

Not a 10.3.4 thing, at least not on this hardware.

Doesn't happen on my 14" iBook G4 OSX10.3.4 either.

I wonder if it has anything to do with what Screensaver you are using ?

Hi All!

Skimming around the web on my smoko (how unpolitically correct!) break, I
found this:

Seems the Tivo guys here in Australia have found a way to program there
imported tivos with Australian guide info.

The software is written for Linux, so it may be little work to convert over
for OS X. I guess the hard bit will be converting the slices into something
readable for EyeTV (which can be programmed via Applescript).

The software doesn't need converting, you can just download the slice files.

Of course, then (not having a TiVo) the software that needs writing
is the GUI for selecting shows given slice files, and then
programming the EyeTV accordingly.

Feasible?

Yes, given someone with enough enthusiasm.

Have fun,

Hmm. Any idea if it has chipped cartridges (ie no refills, must buy at
high prices from Lexmark) or not?

From
http://www.laser-printer-reviews.com/laser-printer-reviews/lexmark-e321-laser-printer-review.html

"The Lexmark E321 laser printer offers reasonable value to smaller

Dear Gary, I am using a Lexmark E220 which works well. I suspect it is
postscipt, because sometimes the printing from emails is a little odd,
which would have something to do with non postscript fonts, perhaps.

Interesting.

There may be legal arguments or other kinds of nit-picking, but I doubt
that most of us would disagree with the basic definition that spam is
simply junk electronic mail.

Anyhow, the Australian Oxford Dictionary seems to have it right.

No.

For instance in my mail box there appears a mac account and my Westnet
account.

Well, Apple likes to give you every encouragement :-)

How do I use the mac account? Or is that a .mac thing?

It's a .mac thing. Is it worth it? I personally find I get value for
money with Home Page, the .mac email address, Apple's Backup program
(you can't even run it without a .mac account), iDisk and the various
software freebies which occur from time to time, but not everyone
agrees.

In any case, don't even bother unless you have Broadband.

Hmm. I use a nice HP JetDirect card in my HP4MP, and it works a treat.
Admittedly, I don't print to it via OSX, but it should work fine.
JetDirect cards aren't hard to come by on eBay. Just a thought.

Of course, that's a suggestion for if your iPrint adapter turns out to
be part of the problem - I'm not suggesting that you leap out to buy new
