Gotta Love That Kid

2007-03-11 Thread Cathy Schreima
this is not about Andy's grandkids as asked about in a recent digest but I just
have to share this gem. A few weeks ago I had my grandkids Alex age 7 & Katelyn
age 4 with me in the car and it just so happened Andy Griffith's CD was playing
... the one where he tells all the stories like What it was ... was football.
Those kids were laughing so hard they loved it. I told there mom about it when
we got to the restaurant. On Friday, Alex was at Karate and I watched Katelyn
so mom and dad could go to Alex's class. When we got in the car to go to Dairy
Queen she said, "Grandma put on that funny tape, please, please, please." I
said, "Funny tape," and it took me a few minutes to figure out she met Andy
Griffith. I must be related to Barney ... It started with the theme song and I
started singing and she promptly let me know I needed to be quiet saying
"No grandma .. I want to hear him sing." I was telling my son about it later
... for some reason he's not an Andy Fan but he should be I watched it
sometimes 5 times a day when he was little (he's 26 now) and he said jokingly
of course the kids weren't going to spend so much time with me. I guess my new
motto will have to be ... "I will not sing! I will not sing! I will not sing!"

I was also searching for an Ohio chapter. I never had anyone respond to
me either. Is there a site with all the tags chapters listed with
contacts??

Someone yesterday had the following quote in their post and for the
life of
me I can't remember where it is from.
Someone help me out.

"You think man will ever go to the moon?"
"Why yes, I'm going there myself one day!"
"You already there boy!"

Tell us about the Kansas City Heist Uncle Dan!

That quote is from Stranger in Town. It was when Andy was talking to Ed
Sawyer in the court house. Shortly after Lucy Mathews came in and Ed was saying
how he loved her and wanted to make her his wife.

Lots of luck to you and yours

  It's Jus-Ben..
The first three years of the Andy Griffith Show have arrived via US Mail
I had no Idea that they had more playing time than the TVLand
episodes...
The clarity is much better than the "Random" copies I got through the years
. This is so prefect .
Thanks for all the info on the captions .
Be Well good people !

TAGS show?

2007-03-11 Thread CTMIDWAY58
Watching Gunsmoke yesterday was kind of like watching The Andy Griffith
Show!! Who was the first one I saw? Brisco Darling.
Second, there was Dud Wash.
Then Goober.
Then...can't remember what character he played...Dub Taylor.
All they needed was Barney to show up as a deputy US Marshal and the show
would have been complete!
All this in just one episode! What was funny, Dud and Goober and one other
guy were fighting Festus who had supposedly been bitten by a rabid dog, but it
turns out it was not rabid! While they were fighting him, Festus bites 2 of
them and the other one bloodies his knuckles, and Brisco, who was the doctor,
came out and told them all what was going to happen if they didn't get to
Kansas City real fast for treatments, so they took off and the town gave
Festus
$300 for running them out of town!! One of the more hilarious Gunsmokes!
Y'all hang on a little longer...Mayberry Days are coming!!
