Hi,
This is good idea I think. We had small talk about it here

Cheers!

[libreoffice-website] Wiki - Translate Extension

2014-01-05 Thread Wojciech Zasadni
Hello,
Recently I discovered this useful extension for translators:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Translate
Maybe someone has already worked with this extension and can say a few
words about it? Is it worth it? Is there any chance to install this
extension in LO wiki?

Cheers!

[libreoffice-website] Re: Cleaning of the wiki and language communities

2013-12-30 Thread Wojciech Zasadni
The misunderstanding is due to the fact that the page should not be located at
the "main namespace" if it's not a translation of an english page.

> For example, for this page:
title=Development/Impress/RemoteHowTo/fr&diff=0&oldid=68189
In this case, page was on "Development/Impress/RemoteHowTo/fr" which suggests
french translation. If it is french "internal" page, it should be locaded
under FR/Development/Impress/RemoteHowTo...

(Maybe I mistunderstood guidelines from:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Multilingual_Wiki)

Anyway, sorry for that and I gonna keep this in mind.

Cheers!

[libreoffice-website] Re: Article categories in wiki.

2013-12-29 Thread Wojciech Zasadni
Currently, minimally invasive solution is to use default sorting in category "
" (most of the pages on wiki use it).
In addition, I suggest to create a separate categories for translated articles
(some people did it already) e.g. Category:Development/fr which should
contains french translations of pages from Category:Development etc. etc.. IMO
it's more intuitive solution, than throwing everything into one category.
Cheers!

It's a good point - I agree with that. But even on wiki for MediaWiki,
category for templates is called "Templates"
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Category:Templates and they are using
"Template:" namespace for them.

Cheers.

Re: [libreoffice-website] Wiki - cleanup in templates.

2013-12-28 Thread Wojciech Zasadni
A popular solution in various wikis is to create different categories
(subcategories) for templates (grouping them by for eq. role), but use
still one, default namespace "Template:". For ODF-Templates whe should
create category named "ODF-Templates". To avoid confusion, I suggest
calling the main category for templates as "Wikipedia Templates".

So, I think we should:
1. Move all templates from "Template" and "Templates" category, to new
"Wikipedia Templates" category.
2. Consider whether the current templates can be grouped in some way - if
so, create an appropriate subcategory.
3. Leave the default namespace "Template" (in category, we are grouping
Templates. Using namespace we are pointing to one Template).

What do you think about this solution?

[libreoffice-website] Article categories in wiki.

2013-12-28 Thread Wojciech Zasadni
Hi,
During the cleaning process I noticed that sometimes to append page to
category we use and sometimes
. Naturally, this has an impact on
how pages are sorted in the category. For first method, all pages gonna be
under letter (for eq. Development/Test) D, and for second method articles
will be sorted according to the second member of name (in this case - T).
Which method should I use?
Cheers!

[libreoffice-website] Wiki - cleanup in templates.

2013-12-28 Thread Wojciech Zasadni
Hello,
I noticed that there are two categories for template - Template and
Templates. Does it have a purpose? If not, I suggest moving all templates
from "Template" category, to "Templates". We also should think about
subcategories for Templates to improve readability/manual searchability.
Recently I created two categories - Meta Templates (base blocks for
creating more specialized templates) and Maintenance Templates (deletion,
outdated, WIP etc. etc.).
I think that the creation of an additional category for the menu and
bugzilla templates is a good idea.
Any thoughts?
Cheers!
