(Much to my frustration -- I get endless complaints about how this version of Huggle is so much slower than the last one when I didn't even change any relevant code). 20 seconds is not only longer than the average user is prepared to wait for a response to a Web request, it's longer than they *can* wait if this stupid moderation system is to actually work. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

Yeah, although that deals with user titles mostly. 'Normal' titles aren't validated in the parameter handling code ATM, each module validates them themselves and has different requirements (title must exist for move but not for edit, etc.). We could centralize this in the spirit of bug 21991, but that doesn't really overlap much with this bug, which is about getting some non-zero support for special pages in ApiPageSet. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l

Obviously this wasn't helped by you guys relocating several thousand miles further away from me, but that does not account for the 5-10 seconds it now takes without the moderation system and ~30 seconds with it. It's not like this is limited to diffs, either. If I'm logged in, it takes the best part of 30 seconds just to *view* moderately long articles like [[Barack Obama]]. In that case, it should be changed in [[MediaWiki:Common.js]] Different cultures have different practices of dash usage. For example, while the substitution of em-dash with two en-dashes looks tolerable for an English speaker, this is pretty uncommon in Russian practice, consequentially it looks strange. Spacing is also different. So yes, localizing this would be highly appropriate. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Wikibugs-l mailing list Wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikibugs-l
[Bug 24073] cannot upload ms word 2007 files
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24073 --- Comment #20 from Derk-Jan Hartman hart...@videolan.org 2010-06-30 21:33:13 CEST --- Created an attachment (id=7534) -- (https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/attachment.cgi?id=7534) gifar cleanup A patch of what I am proposing: 1: Move zip and virus checks before mime checks 2: ZIP gifar check is now separate from mime checks 3: Added $wgAllowGIFARVulnerableFiles global variable 4: Add zip mime detection support for openxml trailers on 2003 Office files. This will allow people to either choose to basically allow zip files uploads when they want. They would still need to whitelist filetypes, and in the case of actual zip files, they have to change the mime blacklist. But when setting $wgAllowGIFARVulnerableFiles=true and adding .doc .docx .odt to their whitelist, they will be able to upload such files none the less (and actual GIFAR files). We could consider expanding on this to add a best-effort mode to detectGIFAR(), where it will only allow opendocument/openxml files, and disallow the rest, though that is somewhat of a fake security model in my opinion. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 24199] New: DynamicPageList2 has security issues
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24199 Summary: DynamicPageList2 has security issues Product: MediaWiki extensions Version: any Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: Normal Component: DynamicPageList2 AssignedTo: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org ReportedBy: bawolff...@gmail.com I fixed some XSS vulnerabilities in r68811 - However I still feel there are problems with this extension. *The playing with $wgRawHtml - this in itself is not a security vulnerability, but makes it easy to give yourself problems. before r68811 the following: DPL category = Africa count= 2 resultsfooter=htmlscriptalert('d')/script/html /DPL Did bad things because resultsfooter was interpreted as if $wgRawHtml was on. I think I got most of those types of issues in r68811, but I am not really familiar with the extension's options at all, so its quite likely i missed something (esp for the find and replace options). **The approach of using wiki-syntax mixed with html sections seems like a bad idea. It seems as if it'd be better to use either wiki-syntax only or html only then you wouldn't have to worry about escaping for both ways (but thats just my opinion after reading the code for 10 minutes, perhaps there is valid reason to do that)... *The ordercollation option does not seem to be escaped when put in the sql... This is just after a brief scan through the code when trying to fix Bug 22675 - I wouldn't be surprised if there are other issues. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 18883] Use a 301/302 status code for redirects
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=18883 --- Comment #12 from Tim Starling tstarl...@wikimedia.org 2010-07-01 05:16:25 UTC --- (In reply to comment #7) This bug is not about asking to add 3xx redirects to Wikipedia - in fact it just asking to add support HTTP status codes to MediaWiki. This is about HTTP protocol compliance. (In reply to comment #8) An option to allow for standards compliance seems reasonable, at a minimum, though changing the default behavior does as well, given that I don't see a particularly good reason to buck the (reasonable) standard. (In reply to comment #9) The option should be to break compliance, or said otherwise, the default should be for it to actually redirect and the option allows you to stop that. We already comply with standards. There's nothing in the HTTP specification which prohibits the sending of similar pages with different URLs. We use a different URL to support the redirected from link. This system is a robust, client-independent and standards-compliant method for implementing that feature. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug.
