I agree with the thought that GIFT import into the extension might be useful.

To explain the current position from the WMUK angle takes rather more comment,
however. Basically we are now working on another format: call it J format,
since it is based on JSON. For a system under development, J format is being
preferred to expanding GIFT format in an ad hoc way, to add further question
types. 

Some existing code translates a significant part of GIFT into J format (and
other code translates back). That means that if J format could be imported into
the Quiz extension, GIFT format also could be imported (given a bit more work).
I can't yet give an opinion whether we would want to do that for the current
project (working name Wikisoba, some details are at
https://wikimedia.org.uk/wiki/Wikisoba_project).

If the way that project is set up requires use of MediaWiki in the repository
aspect, then I would expect to come back to this bug. In any case the use of
GIFT internally in the project is as a human-readable form of syntax. We
probably will be expanding GIFT to do that.

I just realized that #11 WikimediaEvents "Waiting for review" at
http://korma.wmflabs.org/browser/gerrit_review_queue.html?page=2 is marking 3
changesets for August. However, it should count 1 because the other 2 have
"WIP" in the subject:

Meanwhile, "Waiting for review" at

zero is not correct either (should be 1)

The calculation of time at "Most recent uploads" is correct, though (151 days
in August, when the last upload of the one valid changeset was made in April
1st).

Linking this report with Bug 70278 because there we are discussing mismatches
counting changesets in relation to this metric.

Alright, the shape of the green line makes more sense now. At least now we see
a steady increase instead of a sudden change of trend in the last three months.

Still, the total numbers look inconsistent with the values provided by other
graphs in that page.

The blue line in the first graphs marks 1657 changesets, but the total sum of
blue columns in the second graph is 1324. Why the difference of 333 changesets?

For the green we have 994 in the first graph, 718 in the second: a difference
of 276 changesets. I went through the 211 repositories listed below, adding the
value of "Waiting for review", and the total for August is 755. 

Therefore, we have two metrics that point a value in the 700s, while the first
graph says close to 1000. Which one is right?

while working on this issue i discovered that when using hhvm, Special:Import
cannot open the Special:Export XML file because it never opens the file source.
it looks like there may be an issue with the implementation of class
UploadSourceAdapter (/core/includes/Import.php) or that hhvm does not allow
custom protocols and stream sources.

plan to try and re-implement the UploadSourceAdapter per the hhvm manual’s
examples, but not sure if this is the best approach.

What it looks like if you close MediaViewer. Yes, I uploaded a screenshot of a
black tab.

1) Go to

2) Click on the picture for "Juli Matthews of Swagbot". MediaViewer is loaded.
3) Click the X to close MediaViewer.

Expected result: MediaViewer closes.
Obtained result: That tab is now a completely black screen, and it cannot be
dismissed.

The Parsoid team is adding a new header for revision id to their API output
(content-revision-id). Our current solution uses a regex to pull the revision
id from the "about" attribute of the html element in the response body. Once
the code for the new header is deployed by the Parsoid team we need to switch
to use the content-revision-id header and only use the "about" attribute as a
backup.

I'm told that the API exception from Wikidata is due to a bug in their deploy,
which should be fixed shortly, but our code should discern whether the error is

Was this the host where Roan killed the ssh session from tin or another host?
In general this looks like rsync experiencing some sort of major on the
receiving client side. With the horrible sync times and extreme load that the
mw1010 server was under during this scap I'm actually not surprised to see a
few errors like this occur.

I'm not sure there is much that could be done to adjust for this in the scap
program itself. We could dial back the number of parallel processes we run or
try to add some sort of load check in the rsync server selection process. The
settings we are running now however have remained the same for many months and
we have only seen these really bad sync times and high load on the rsync
servers in the last week or two. Many (all?) of the rsync servers are job
runner nodes. I'm sort of wondering if something has changed in the behavior or
job load that is clashing with scap.

I'd really like to move from rsync to a git fetch or other method of
synchronization that uses precomputed diffs and lessens the computational cost
on both the client and server.

"pending reviews waiting for reviewer" (Waiting for Reviewer) is now
implemented as a "evolution time metric" (not backlog anymore) and the results
are now in:

To be consistent in both metrics, I have renamed "pending" to "Waiting".

we currently have older wikibase (from sept 2) and probably some cached newer
things. this combination does not work. I don't know how easily fixable to make

I still don't really know what any of the underlying problems were, or what
fixed what, but if you follow that link you can see the RL message blob is now
correct (confirmed on GUI).

the first URL is 404 nowadays. the last URL seems all unrelated to the first
one.

there were 209 wikis with error 500. 

i added a little code to the update script that detects the ones who return
"HTTP/1.0 500 MediaWiki configuration Error" in the header as opposed to a
regular 500, then uses the custom error code "999" for them.

reusing what was once "/http_status_codes.php:$http_status[999]="stats-9 -
Outdated. Timestamp was older than 14 days.";"  but there were no wikis with
that status.

running this found 17 (of the 209) wikis (only)

these can now be seen here, so they are identified as the bug asks for:

There are no unit tests exercising features of dm.Converter that are currently
unused by our node types, like returning null/undefined from toDataElements to
trigger alienation, returning one a different type from toDataElements,
returning an annotation type from a node's toDataElements, etc.

narrow, limited use case) I see no reason not to go forward with this.
Reversibility should not be a concern but Sam can weigh in with details.

Ready to deploy the change from my end; James, please weigh in if you have
final concerns about the proposed config.

Again, apologies that no.wp got hit with a very delayed response here; we want
to make sure we consider expanded FlaggedRevs use carefully, but this seems
very well thought out and limited in scope.

This has been fixed for some time, the summary updates on-page after you submit

A minor related remaining glitch is the action menu item doesn't change to

Reducing importance/etc as this is no longer breaking production (test wikis).
But we're in a reverted state, so keeping it higher than normal so we can get
wikidata back on the 1.24wmf21 train (hopefully).

The similar "remove as reviewer" link, which uses the same type of popup
confirmation dialog, still works. (Thus, maybe it's not a javascript problem?)

Also, the enrolled user can still remove themselves using the Disenroll button
from the top right tabs overflow pulldown ("More").

Users with advanced rights have an option to remove users as students from a
course page: the "remove from course" link in the students table brings a
confirmation dialog, and normally when you click "Remove student" to confirm
it, the user is removed from the course.

As noticed today, this no longer works. After clicking "Remove student", the
user remains listed as a student.
