  I will point out that the terms and conditions section does not actually 
render as intended in every locale. For pnb it shows raw wiki markup and the 
links do not resolve.

  I'm not able to reproduce the issue (as I interpret it). Tried the new lexeme 
page  in Firefox v106, Safari 
v15.6 and Chrome v107on macOS Monterey. Might this issue be connected with this

  This key combinations, neither `home` nor `end` work with the wikit lookup. 
Apart from this, interacting with said component in the new Lexeme page made me

  While working on the new unified design system for Wikimedia (Codex), it was 
tentatively decided to actually abandon the current style of required forms. 
This is due to the fact that, in the current approach, the indicator placement 
would vary depending on input type (e.g. inside of a text input field v. 
outside of a select) complicating understanding and quick scanning, in some 
cases. The new design hasn't been created yet, but using a simple asterisk 
beside the label appeared to be the most likely decision.

  Absolutely agreed. My suggestion: let's use a 12px* non-focusable icon 

 instead of plain text. *This size might be too big indeed, so let's keep our 
minds open for a smaller, potentially 8px icon.
  
  > it has a large gap before it
  
  Agreed again. The spacing between the label and the required icon should be 
reduced by half (to 0.25em).
  
  > it has no tooltip
  
  This is a very commonly extended pattern. I'm unsure that a tooltip would be 
essential to ensure understanding, but it doesn't hurt anyone, and I've found 
some recommendations that encourage the use of tooltips on hover for extra 
clarification. A browser default will do.
  
  > it does nothing if you click on it
  
  It shouldn't, it's simply an indicator.

  Hello there. There's no perfect solution for this: If we placed the text 
below the button, we would risk hiding the conditions from screen reader users 
(and making them easier to ignore, due to reading order, for everyone else). I 
think we should follow the usual approach (see source edit pages in enwiki) and 
keep the conditions text above the 'Create Lexeme' button, reflecting the 
recommended/logical reading order.
  
  Now, I've noticed that source edit pages on Wikipedia exclude terms and 
conditions links from the tab flow (i.e. so one moves directly to the 'Publish 
changes' button when tabbing from the last checkbox – 'Watch this page'). This 
is a solution that would solve the issue risen by this ticket. Nevertheless, 
I'm not sure whether this is totally friendly for people with reduced mobility, 
so we should be aware of this potential compromise.

  In order to easily remove the copyright message links from the tab flow, 
while keeping them accessible via screen reader (using control key), we could

  - a very quick look at Turnilo : the graph look 
different enough that I'd like to know why the discrepancies
  - as discussed, we should define the service as "working" not only when 
returning HTTP/200, but also when requests are throttled (429) or banned (403)
  - we probably need to dig a bit more into other response codes and the dips 
we see in the graph to understand what they are and if they are problematic 
(and thus refine our definition of a "working" service)
