  Thanks for the changes! There's only one low priority fix to make in relation 
to this task. It introduced a bug in the MSMF Store that was already identified 
during code revie: there's a default outline applied via the `.button` class. 
We should include `outline: @outline-base--focus;` in the `&:focus` 
pseudo-class to remove it.

  Quick report on the progress being made:
  
  - Our query logs do not only contains sparql queries and the sparql client 
used to collect the data has to be adapted to support these (ASK, CONSTRUCT, 
DESCRIBE) (https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/c/wikidata/query/rdf/+/991622)
  - Getting failures due to response size, bumped the limit to 16M but still 
getting problems, I might stop here and simply tag & ignore such massive 
queries moving forward
  - Getting very bad numbers from Listeria and MixNMatch (34% and 17% identical 
respectively), avg result size is 1.6k and 8k so might explain partly why 
getting identical results is difficult, need more investigations to understand 
the cause...
  - Getting pretty mediocre numbers for WikidataIntegrator at 88% with very 
small avg result size at 8,  more investigation needed
  - Pywikibot and SPARQLWrapper are good at 99.4% for both

  So after a lot more staring at stack traces and with some help from base 
banana , I have a very concrete theory about the cause 
of the issue, and I am experimentally able to resolve the issue on my local 
machine.
  
  As part of the initialization of the singleton 
Scribunto_LuaWikibaseEntityLibrary 

 object, multiple UsageAccumulators 

 are instantiated which store their usage records to the `ParserOutput` that is 
active when `Scribunto_LuaWikibaseEntityLibrary::getImplementation` is called 
for the first time:

return WikibaseClient::getUsageAccumulatorFactory()
->newFromParserOutput( $this->getParser()->getOutput() 
);
}
  
  During Parsoid parsing of templates and wikitext fragments, repeated calls to 
parser->resetOutput 

 create new `Parser` objects, which Parsoid correctly tracks and correctly 
gathers the usages from with matching calls to collectMetadata 
.
  
  Unfortunately, the singleton `Scribunto_LuaWikibaseEntityLibrary` retains the 
reference to the original `ParserOutput`, which `Parsoid` no longer has a 
reference to, causing some subsequent calls to addUsage 

 to store their usages in the wrong `ParserOutput` object:

self::EXTENSION_DATA_KEY, $usage->getIdentityString()

}
  
  This results in the Parsoid jobs tracking fewer usages than the Canonical 
parses. In the case where the Parsoid usage count is below the 
`entityUsageModifierLimits` and the Canonical usage count is above, we end up 
with the situation that `doLinksUpdateComplete` will try and delete the 
`C.PXXX` statements while Parsoid's `onParserCacheSaveComplete` wants to add 
them back. I expect that this triggers the deadlock in production.
  
  I still need a little more time to reproduce the issue in a unit test 
locally, and then to reduce that to a minimal reproduction. My quick fix 
involves checking in the singleton getter to see if the `ParserOutput` object 
reference has changed:

  but this is obviously a little error prone. I'm not sure if the best approach 
would be to eliminate the singleton entirely, or to introduce lifecycle hooks 
so that the `UsageAccumulator`s can observe when the active `ParserOutput` 
changes.

  For Wikimedia commons images, when seen in table format query result or 
other, a link to the image is displayed as ":commons:…". It could be great to 
have the same kind of features to better display links to projects such as 
"en:Victor Hugo" as compared to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Hugo that 
it is now.
  
  Alternatively, or as another option, the query service should provide a way 
to compute a label, which could be displayed as a HTML link "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Hugo";>?articleLabel" where 
?articleLabel is the variable name of the computed value
  
  **Use case(s)** (list the steps that you performed to discover that problem, 
and describe the actual underlying problem which you want to solve. Do not 
describe only a solution):
  When Wikidata query is used to display results about a wikiproject, for a 
replacement of categories. The full link url are not very pretty and do not 
give an idea of the title of the link.
  
  **Benefits** (why should this be implemented?):
  It would provide better looking results for users, increasing the probability 
that Wikidata is considered an alternative to the Category system when 
relevant. It would also save space while displaying results by avoiding text 
redundancy in the results, while allowing user to easily go back to their home 
wiki.

  Good question. TL;DR: It doesn't have to, but it's also not as important to 
remove the visited state in this case.
  This is one of those "it depends" scenarios: providing people with the 
indication that they have followed the log in link included in the message 
becomes irrelevant after the first use. But, since this is not a static 
navigation option on the page, I don't think removing the visited state is so 
essential either. Consistency between the log in links is also not obligated 
because they have different context of use (static header navigation vs. 
content). So, I would tentatively leave it as is? Unless you had any other 
arguments that I might be overlooking. In which case, please feel free to share

mentioned in a previous comment, the "user page" and the "log out"/"log in" 
links display different colors on hover. The former has the correct style: in

  The ambiguity could be solved by using the standard wikimedia prefixes 
"w:en:Victor Hugo", this works as a wikilink. A bit obscure for a lot of 
course, but … An icon as for commons could help, a tooltip too.

  All AACCs are met and no spacing alteration were detected, so the task can be 
considered done.
  
  I need a little help to make a decision regarding the following: As part of 
this tak, all WiKit tokens were replaced by the new variables, but there are 
still some discrete spacing values in `rem` and `em` units in app.scss (lines 
75 to 84 
,
 line 234 
...).
 The different token replacement tasks indicate (see "Considerations") that 
discrete values should also be replaced by Codex tokens, but this wasn't listed 
as an acceptance criterion. Our files still contain discrete values of all 
sorts (spacing, color, sizes, etc), so my question is: should I create a 
separate task to replace all the pending discrete values that require so, or 
should we tackle these as part of the existing tasks? What is your preference 
@noarave, @guergana.tzatchkova, @HasanAkgun_WMDE?

  I think this is actually a pretty good approach – the identity of the 
`ParserOutput` instance should be a fairly good proxy for “are we still in the 
same parse or not?” (which matters not just for the `ParserOutput`, but also 
for things like the `Language`, which we get from the `ParserOptions` and which 
in theory can probably change as well) – and I haven’t found a much better one 
so far. (The `ParserOutput::mParseStartTime` looks interesting, but it’s both 
deprecated and not directly accessible; its recommended replacement, 
`getTimeProfile()`, is useless during an ongoing parse IIUC. I don’t think the 
parser output or parse call really have an “ID” of their own, and many of the 
associated IDs – page, revision, whatever – are going to be the same for 
multiple parses triggered by Parsoid.)
  
  An alternative might be the `ParserClearState` hook, which is called in 
(guess what) `Parser::clearState()`. We could perhaps subscribe to that hook 
and reset the singletons in `Scribunto_LuaWikibaseEntityLibrary` and friends 
there. But at the moment I think I almost like the `ParserOutput` identity 
check better.

  I guess we don't need to follow the deprecation process provided we update 
the existing use cases  in extensions and mediawiki.language to use Map instead 
of mw.Map first and send a #user-notice 
 (since it's being used in

).
  
  I think if we don't intend this to be private we should definitely not be 
exposing it on the mw object. There's no need and misleads developers into 
thinking it's a stable API.
