Re: [WISPA] 900b mhz omni
Get yourself some 7/8" heliax cable. It's all over the place for about $2 ft. You can get connectors on EBay for like $15-25 each. Given the distance, your filters, connectors, lightning arrestor and cables you should not see more than 3-4 dB. Of course that depends on whose filter you are using. Then 9dB antenna and you are rocking..I would not go over 9dB either. Not worth the extra 1 or 2 dB considering the size. -B- chris cooper wrote: There are a couple reasons- The cable run is @ 57 meters max, 40 meters with some really creative rope work. Re: [WISPA] 900b mhz omni
I agree with Barry. If you are looking to get better gain, don't look for higher gain, look for higher quality antenna, that offers electronic downtilt or null fill. It takes the energy focused upward that gets wasted, and focuses it more downward. Be prepared to pay though. I'm not aware of one in Horizontal Pol. The only two 900Mhz horizontal pol omni makers I know of are, MTI and PacWireless. But I'm sure they exist. I know Antel made some downtilt version of Verticle pol. I'll be in the market for one of these too. I've heard that Pac Wireless makes a good one. Anyone know of other high quality 900MHz omni in H-pol?
