above and it says its might have to
do with misconfiguring Amanda with a rewinding tape device instead of a
non-rewinding device name for tape
How do I check this.

Hi
I have finally managed to install the client for the sun box. I suppose
there has to be a entry in /etc/inetd.conf. I have searched and tried to
figure out what to put in there but haven't succeeded. Can someone please
help.

I have furhtered since the last time.Now I have amanda installed and entries
entered for /etc/services & /etc/inetd.conf. In looking up the syslog file I
located this message."Aug 30 14:16:14 purlin inetd[120]: amanda/udp: socket:
Protocol not supported"
Can someone tell me whats this error.
Has anyone successfully had amanda running as a client or even as a server.
